I am having problems accessing my Internet explorer web browser from my laptop. I suspect the reason that the internet Explorer web browser is taking an extremely long time to process any information is because maybe a virus is infecting the web browserI think I may acquired a virus through an acculumation of downloads ; but, I then assumed that Norton antivirus software would have automatically detected fixed any malformation that had come with the download files .Although I scanned my laptop for viruses and the antivirus software found 3 virus programs and eliminated them, My internet web browswer still does not work properly .Are there any other options I can respond to that will fixed the problem

How do you get another browser without downloading a browswer from the Internet. I don't know if its even my browser thats not working . I only came to the conclusion that it had to be my browser if the anti-virus software scanned everything and eliminated all detected viruses .

Sounds like a good excuse to reformat to me. Reformatting is generally quicker and achievesbetter results than trying to fix problems the hard way.

You most likely have spyware on your computer. Go to another computer, search some previous TWW threads for how to get rid of it. Namely, download/install Spybot and Adaware.

You could test your connection without downloading a new browser. As someone mentioned, you can try to ping the outside world or you can kill two birds with one stone. Open up your norton AV program and attempt a download of the latest virus definitions. Something tells me you might be back-level on your virus definitions. If you can connect, great. Be sure to re-scan your computer after you've updated. Have you tried any of the suggestions here? They are all good. We can't help much if we don't know which of the ideas we are running by you do and don't work.
