My boyfriend graduated from UNCG with an Art major and has worked the past 2 years as a Web and graphic designer for a small toy company. Hes looking to go back to grad school starting fall of 2007. He wants to do design but he wants a program that will also touch on advertising and marketing. Does NC States Masters of Graphic Design do this? Has anybody been through the program so we can know what its like? One other program we were looking at was at Clemson with there Graphic Communications but they seem to focus only on package design and he doesnt want to be forced into one type of design because of the school. Is there anybody who knows of any other programs that might fit what hes looking for? We would love to stay in the NC/VA/SC area becuase our parents are older and all our family is in the area but we could look into moving farther away if need be. Thanks!

No - most likely the grad program of GD at NCSU will not delve into advertising and marketing. I only did the undergrad graphic design program at NCSU, but most likely it will only focus on straight graphic design.Unfortunately I can't offer another suggestion. I suppose Savannah's College of Art and Design (SCAD) is another decent school within those states.-ZiP!-

i got into clemson for their graphic communications program, couldn't afford to go, but it's definately not what you're looking for. i would look for an advertising/marketing degree and he could use his dissertation and such to focus on graphic design...that's just my opinion though...i'd like to know what you find because i'm also looking for something similargood luck
