7/17/2006 11:37:36 AM
I saw this coming
7/17/2006 11:40:51 AM
7/17/2006 11:41:18 AM
Brackman has been quoted as saying he WILL play basketball next seasonLowe has said that Brackman WILL play basketball next seasonthese are real quotes, not some fucking rumor, please do not post any more bullshit about this
7/17/2006 11:42:23 AM
^how long ago were these quotes given?you know shit like this changes all the damn time.
7/17/2006 11:46:53 AM
well he does have a better chance of getting drafted in the MLB over the NBA, so i wouldnt blame him if he concentrated on the mound
7/17/2006 11:51:59 AM
Doesn't he have to stay on a Basketball scholarship?
7/17/2006 11:57:49 AM
Brackman is fucking destroying the summer leagues right now. Last I heard he hasn't given up a run yet and was hitting 99 mph on the radar gun.Right now would be a good time to be in a coma for 2-3 years if you're a big NC State basketball fan.
7/17/2006 11:57:56 AM
well we did just get holliday from texas..maybe that has a big impact on him(he's associate head coach and pitching coach right??)
7/17/2006 12:08:32 PM
^^^Yes he would give up his Basketball scholly. That will take away from the other baseball players if he is given more scholarship money.Baseball only gets 11.7 scholarships so it is tough as it is.
7/17/2006 1:24:04 PM
hahahahahaaaa
7/17/2006 3:26:43 PM
Holliday WILL NOT be working with the pitchers. he is total focused on recruiting. they staff has a pitching coach that they are satisfied with.
7/17/2006 3:42:12 PM
Brackman is still deciding, Lowe is attempting to get him to stayhttp://www.newsobserver.com/122/story/462345.html
7/20/2006 9:55:45 AM
^ lemme translate:"I am looking out for my own interests here. Sure, Brackman has a better chance at making it in the major leagues, but if it helps my depth on the basketball squad some, then I don't care if he could possibly hurt his baseball potential."
7/20/2006 1:37:08 PM
"I am going to encourage Brackman to play baseball, even though his draft stock plummetted in the last year"
7/20/2006 1:38:36 PM
I've got it on pretty good word that Brackman will only play baseball next year.
7/21/2006 8:09:42 PM
how could anyone have not seen this coming? he's really not that good anyway. I mean he definetly had his moments, but he was really streaky.
7/21/2006 8:11:40 PM
^Uh, most everyone did not expect him to play basketball this next year, so I don't know who you're talking to.
7/21/2006 9:16:29 PM
7/21/2006 9:19:11 PM
At least we'll still have Atsur. We're fucked.
7/22/2006 2:03:58 AM
i'm very upset that Lowe's first season (or three) will be a huge failurehonestly, I am
7/22/2006 2:08:03 AM
7/23/2006 9:54:20 PM
thus begins the lean years...
7/24/2006 12:13:35 AM
ok honestly what i dont get is how it always seemed like no one liked herb but now we got this new guy and our next 2 or 3 years are gonna suckso basically herb would have been better than this guy?
7/24/2006 12:16:43 AM
<------- liked Herb
7/24/2006 12:39:40 AM
i didnt have nothing against him either...i mean i didnt like how it always seemed we purposely tried to not come inside the three point line but still...
7/24/2006 12:53:40 AM
That's the past now guys.Let it go.
7/24/2006 1:08:33 AM
Brackman is the FUTURE!!!!
7/24/2006 1:10:27 AM
ONE POINT TWENTY ONE JIGGAWATTS!
7/24/2006 1:53:13 AM

7/24/2006 9:37:50 AM
Big Ben at center!!!!!
7/24/2006 9:39:22 AM
I haven't heard the update on Grant yet, is he for sure coming back with his deportation issues?
7/24/2006 10:16:46 AM
In Joe Lunardi's 2007 Bracketology, State isn't even sniffing the tourny, but Virginia, FSU, and GT are all in as high seeds. I know we won't be great next year, but we should be on par with UVA and FSU regardless of who they have returning.
7/24/2006 10:21:12 AM
I'm fine with having a couple of struggling years. No big deal. Can't have the cake and eat it too.
7/24/2006 10:46:58 AM
this is like the same situation UNC was in last year, except totally different and worse
7/24/2006 12:57:22 PM
Well, we should definitely be better than UVA and FSU. If they do play as uptempo as they say, Costner and Fells and Grant alone should keep us in games, like in the first half of the Texas game. We might not make the tournament but we should still do better than those guys. GT looks like they're gonna be kinda sick with some more experience.
7/24/2006 1:08:19 PM
he's not gonna play next year, apparently he's been amazing in the summer baseball leagues
7/24/2006 3:29:58 PM
^^I want them to succeed as much as anyone, but Costner has played 4 games and Fells has only played scrub minutes. They have the talent, but we do not know if they will be as good as advertised.
7/24/2006 3:43:44 PM
7/24/2006 3:51:52 PM
^Brackman in the Cape Cod league. Its the same league from the movie, Summer Catch with Freddie Prinz.
7/24/2006 3:57:58 PM
7/24/2006 5:07:01 PM
He didn't sound "amazing" during the one inning I listened to...Granted, that's just one inning, but it sounded just like Brack from our past baseball season.
7/24/2006 5:49:23 PM
7/24/2006 7:48:32 PM
7/24/2006 11:44:01 PM
if 20 million mexicans can illegally be here, fucking grant can or else ....
7/24/2006 11:54:48 PM
The Cape's biggest standout is two-sport star Andrew Brackman, a 6-foot-10 right-hander from North Carolina State who is also seen as a potential selection in the 2007 NBA draft. If he shows he's committed to baseball, however, he's the leading contender to be the top college player selected, with a good shot to be the top overall selection. His mechanics are surprisingly simple and consistent for such a tall pitcher. He has a plus fastball (91-97 mph) and good command, pitching to both sides of the plate. He also has an above-average curve with a hard two-plane break, and he can work with just these two pitches, changing speeds on his fastball as needed, although he flashed a changeup during warm-ups. Tall pitchers with this kind of stuff are supposed to need mechanical work, but Brackman's delivery is already good. There was a rumor floating around the Cape that Brackman plans to drop basketball, realizing that he has a chance to be a star in baseball; but my ESPN.com colleague, Andy Katz, spoke with Brackman's basketball coach at NC State, who was unaware of any such plans.from espn insider
7/31/2006 11:43:50 AM
since this is the only basketball thread i can find, is nc state having a practice in the rbc center or something tonight? the court is being rollede out and the scoreboard is on...
7/31/2006 2:53:37 PM
its probobly for the summer youth camps. they are not allowed to practice until x date. thus midnight madness
7/31/2006 3:11:33 PM
summer youth camps are always at reynolds
7/31/2006 3:19:09 PM
but still to show people.
