just checking to see if anyone has any experience with using community serverhttp://communityserver.org/Default.aspxi'm starting a site with a friend and we have all the creative assets worked up from a designer and we have the site structure and content, we just don't have the time or the skill to get the software up and runningthis would be a volunteer job, but we are both in a position to help whoever does it find more paid freelance work and the site is going to be pretty high profile as far as the people participating and using the content we'll be generating, especially in the advertising worldif you might be interested or want more details shoot me a pm

so you want someone to work for free, with no stake in what they are producing, with only a chance of getting some paid work in the future? that has got to be the most retarded thing I have ever heard unless this is for a non-profit organization.

it's a zero revenue venture with us just paying for things out of pocket to maintain a site, there won't be any cash flow in any directionthe site is going to aggregate knowledge from unusual sources and apply it to large scale issues from a marketing perspective - the concept is a little out there but lots of people have been very interested in seeing what it generatesi've done lots of projects for free in this same scenario and it's paid off as well as 10 free hours for a 2 hours project for $1,000 and a one day project for $5,000 - i'd say that more than compensates for me demonstrating my willingness to work hard no matter what the rewardif all goes as planned it would be a really outstanding portfolio piece for someone, not everybody is motivated by a paycheck if they have interest in something or just want to get their work out therei mean we're buying a pre-build software package and we have all the creative assets developed, we just need somebody to implement - i don't imagine that it's going to be an overwhelming challenge, i just don't have time to learn it all between a full time job and all the consulting work i balance
