just bought new tires and my front right tire is rubbing the hell out the back of the wheel wellwhat is the most likely cause of this?

im going to go out on a limb here and say that the tire is too big

1. Get you a BFH2. Bash fuck outta the inside of the wheel well.3...4. PROFIT

tire isn't too bigi have 225/45s on all 4 and a lowered suspensionim wondering if it's a worn shock

stock rims?if not is the offset correct?[Edited on July 12, 2006 at 3:31 PM. Reason : .]

Question for you:Are wheel offsets the same front and back? I've actually seen some cars where they're different, and rubbing could actually occur if the rear wheels were put on the front, etc.As far as the shock being worn...does it do it ONLY under suspension compression? If so, then I might suspect the shock. If it happens all the time, even under slow turning with little to no weight transfer and the subsequent compression of the suspension...then I'd say your problems lie elsewhere.Remember, not all tire profiles are created equal. There are usually minor variations between manufacturers (even though they may have the same given aspect ratio), and the tread blocks might also be thicker. Result? You have new tires that rub when your old ones didn't. How adjustable is your ride height?

well at low speeds it's not noticeable, but from 40+ on the freeway it definitely iswhen i turn the wheel hard to the right, the rub disapears and it's very smoothstraight on and to the left it rubs pretty moderately

You got ride height issues. Need to get that thing bumped up a little bit.

for some strange reason when i tried to put a 225/50R15 on instead of a 195/65R14 it rubbed . go figure. still havent rented a fender roller. so if anyone wants to make an offer on some brand new 225/50R15 falken ziex mounted on kosei k1s (4 lugs) go for it. it would save my lazy ass from having to do any work.

the tires on my truck rub the front radius arms before i get to full lock, and when i stuff the rears they kiss the frame at the spring perchfrom 29" to 32.8", my speedo is off 13.4%.[Edited on July 12, 2006 at 8:38 PM. Reason : man enough for you]

yeah 4x100. not sure of the offset, its off an e30 and required no spacers. pretty positive its got centering rings.unfortunately the wheels are back in raleigh in my closet and i am in asheville all summer so it will be a while before i can get any pictures.[Edited on July 12, 2006 at 9:53 PM. 7/13/2006 6:34:48 AM
how much for the wheels/tires?
7/13/2006 10:35:36 AM
make me an offer, this is the first time i have thought about selling them, so i havent researched the value of them at all.
7/13/2006 11:15:15 AM
ya'll were wrongi needed new wheel bearings
8/5/2006 1:13:41 PM
that's a hell of a lot of slop to make a tire hit the wheel well.
8/5/2006 4:44:17 PM
well it likely wast ever actually rubbing at all, he mistook the noise for the tire rubbing.
