I don't think this computer has a video out plug on the video card.

Is there another way I could hook the tv up to the computer... my friend has a lot of movies and would like to be able to watch them on the tv.

how much do you want to spend

if you already have a dvd player - encode them to vcd/svcd/dvd format - burn them

if not pick up an divx/xvid player
