Greetings. I have about $3000 to spend on a new HDTV. I'm pretty set on getting a rear projection since I have no need for space saving, and I will be playing video ggames and don't want burn in. Now that 1080p is coming out, I think I may have to get one that has this technology since I think I will get a PS3 and I don't want to be mad I don't have the best picture.

Right now I am looking at the Sony Grand Wegas, especially the A2000s that are coming out in the next few weeks. The 50" A2000 has full 1080p HDMI inputs, and goes for about $2800. I'm also checking out the Samsung DLPs. What do you guys think I should go with? Thanks for your help!

Without putting too much thought into this....

Ultimately, you should look at the various models, sony, samsung and decide how the picture looks to you.

IMO, the current LCD projections from Sony look better than the Samsung DLPs... better contrast and brightness

when i buy a new tv i just go around to different places and look at the pictures the tvs displays and make my decision from that.

this would work if all the tv's in the stores had been setup correctly/optimally for the rooms they're in.

Yes, the $15,000 television probably would look a hair better than the $2,500 set, HOWEVER, when that set is all alone in your living room it'll probably look absolutely astounding.

I have a Sony 50A10 and love it. Picture is beautiful, footprint is small and lightweight, no complaints at all.
