when your grandmother dies in Germany, your mom has to fly over there in an emergency and spends close to $13,000 getting all of her final expenses taken care of, the body gets cremated and they send the urn to the US with NO ASHES IN IT
This is so upsetting, because we don't even know where they are, or what happened to them.

It has her name on it and everything. The funeral home in Germany pretty much really fucked us over...they announced her death 3 times, once at the hospital, once at the funeral home and again at the funeral home after the coroner's report...each of these cost $500. Then, they put her in a casket before the cremated her ($$) which was not neccessary since she was being cremated, and they made us pay for transportation of it, and taxes and stuff. This is pretty horrible, and I think my mom is going to have to go back over there again soon to take care of stuff, because her cousin extorted about $7,500 from my Grandmother before she died. He just took her house key and the $200 my parents sent to her in a care package at the hospital and left her dead body there.

That's horrible and sad. I can't imagine having to deal with that. She needs to plan on staying there a while and sue them. Announcing the death 3 times and the charge for a casket is rediculous for a cremation.
