I have to produce a notarized copy of my passport in the next week or so and I understand that Notaries public are no longer allowed to notarize photocopies. Is this really the case and if so, do you know of any way to get a copy of my passport certified?

i can notarize an affidavit attached to a photograph...but not a photograph itself.

and as far as photocopy goes yes...as long as they sign the original and the copy in my presence and i notarize both. but i can't notarize a bunch of blank documents.

VV or in the degree case...i can't notarize that b/c i didn't see the person sign your degree--see what i mean?

Would you need an affadavit to certify that the copy of my passport is indeed a copy of the original?

^I tried going to my bank a few months ago when I needed to get some copies of my degree notarized. This is when I was told about the no notarizing photocopies thing. I'm hoping that the lady was wrong.
