Hypothetically speaking... I don't know much about BOP's.1969 Oldsmobile 455. F block with E heads. Stock internals except for a mild cam. Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake and the stock Q-Jet carb. The whole engine would be clean with a fresh coat of paint and all new gaskets/rockers/rods/lifters/chain. Would look basically like this:Second question. What's the smallest vehicle this would fit in?-------------Also, can anyone confirm that red was the right color for the 455 in '69? As I understand it, the small blocks were gold and everything went tarhell blue in 1970.[Edited on June 27, 2006 at 7:53 PM. Reason : .]

$1200-1500 would be fair Rebuildable cores go for $350-500 bare "F" block pull $200 max and I paid $300 for my "E" heads.

I found a block in good shape and a bunch of parts the guy had already bought but never installed. I'm considering building something up just for the hell of it.

Not worth it, not by a long shot. Dave (GK2004) can tell you too- if you are going to build a big block Olds, then you have to be serious about it.
