so I have to quit a job and an unable to give two weeks notice because I already accepted another position....worrying about forfeiting a paycheck.....any ideas/suggestions?

Yeah, unless you signed something like you'd be charged the cost of training if you quit on them prematurely, you'll still get paid.

Actually, that's a toughie. I'd say just go ahead and say "Oh, well I'm quitting in one week" only. If you put them down as your reference, your new employer probably called the older one to get some info on you, so they might have an idea you're leaving already. It's never a good idea to lie.

maybe I didnt have a choice, dumbass....otherwise I wouldnt have a new job....and no references required, I guess it is just a matter of how much of an asshole I want to be

Don't sweat it, just be as upfront with your current employer as you can. I've always worked a 2 week notice, but looking back on it- most of the time it was unnecessary

The whole point of a two week notice is not to piss them off for when your next place calls for references. You think if they went out of business you would get a two week notice??? You might would just show up to some locked doors and a sign in the window. It happens all the time like that.
