Fuck it, let's go there. It should be harder anyways.Wilco.

i disagree with outkast, ATLiens is a pretty fucking awesome album
6/22/2006 12:44:25 PM
i agree....i dont think you have to start off sucking in order to get progressively better.[Edited on June 22, 2006 at 12:47 PM. Reason : v]
6/22/2006 12:46:20 PM
theres no way this thread should get as many legitimate responses as the "progressively worse" thread

i'm going to have to disagree with sufjan. seven swans is way better than his 50 states stuff.
6/22/2006 4:24:57 PM
yeah, that's what the question mark is for.but seven swans is his second most recent album (right?)and illinois gives seven swans a run for its money. iow: they're both great.illinois ?=? seven swans > michigan > a sun camei've never heard "enjoy your rabbit"[Edited on June 22, 2006 at 4:34 PM. The Decemberists.
6/22/2006 4:34:01 PM
eh, i think radiohead got different, but not necessarily better.wilco belongs in the progressively worse thread.
6/22/2006 4:38:01 PM
you, sir, are an idiot (in regards to wilco)unless you're just talking about the transition from yhft to a ghost is born. i can see that, though i don't agree.
6/22/2006 4:38:54 PM
though Do You Want More??!?? will always stick out in my mind...The Roots
6/22/2006 4:39:53 PM
no, i hated yfth and ghost is born. honestly, i've only heard a couple songs off of ghost is born. after they released yfth i lost interest because that album was so bad. i miss the being there days...
6/22/2006 4:41:53 PM
*shakes head*
6/22/2006 4:45:41 PM
haha, all my friends love that album too. i just can't understand why. it's goofy as fuck.
6/22/2006 4:49:54 PM
i didn't like a ghost is born for a good 4 or 5 months. then i had listened while working one day, and it didn't leave my school cd drive for a good week. i love it now.
6/22/2006 4:52:24 PM
I don't see how you could describe any part of that album as "goofy as fuck".
6/22/2006 4:52:34 PM
i don't remember specifics now, but i'll break it out tonight and find some examples....
6/22/2006 4:59:00 PM
personally I think Wilco is crap. However, I dig the shit out of Son Volt. (not that I should compare the two)
6/22/2006 5:11:55 PM
I think Wilco is more like a bell curve...AM is a fun album but not very memorable, being there was a great step forward, summerteeth was the peak, yankee hotel foxtrot was very good, a ghost is born was LOL badthe beatles certainly have an upward trend. i would say abbey road (2nd to last album) was their strongesti have made it clear in the past that i disagree with radiohead, but we can let that diesufjan stevens maybe, but i will not admit that illinoise is better than michigan
6/22/2006 5:25:30 PM
A.M. : YHF :: Pablo Honey : Kid Anot many people are huge fans of both ends of these bands' careers

The trouble with this thread is that when bands have always sucked they never get a record deal/playtime, that only comes once they get good. This is why many bands seem to tank after the first album; there was a period of suckage that built up to the good album, you just didn't see it.
6/22/2006 11:10:12 PM
Um new outkast? Andre should rarely ever given the reigns
6/23/2006 12:22:19 AM

wilco has shifted so far away from their alt-country roots they aren't even a valid subject for this thread
6/23/2006 1:29:05 AM
6/23/2006 1:31:14 AM
i'm not trying to turn this into a wilco threadbut they're not even the same band anymorethe addition of glenn kotche and nels cline and jeff tweedy's doodlings with jim o'rourke have completely changed the direction of the bandso, again, they don't even belong in this thread
6/23/2006 1:42:09 AM
the lack of unconditional love for every wilco album in this thread is unacceptable - specifically "Being There"... the album that gave is Kingpin, I Got You, and Forget the Flowers...that said,The White StripesNirvanaJimi Hendrix
6/23/2006 2:10:22 AM
wilco was a band. wilco is a band. wilco will be a band. wilco = band.wilco fucking wilco. they've gotten better and better. styles change. deal with it.
