So my dishwasher has water standing in the bottom. Also my oven takes forever to cook anything and the door ice dispenser on my fridge dont work right.

dishwasher probably doesn't have a food grinder and you put plates in w/ too much crap on them. You have to clean it out by hand.

My dishwasher is a mustard yellow lazy whore. I used it one time since I bought the house and then the next time I went to use it all the water dumped out on the floor because it rusted all the way through the bottom.

I have a new one to install, but someone soldered the damn water pipe onto it instead of just threading it on and using some thread sealer. Now I need to buy a torch to melt that shit.

I also have a beautiful mustard yellow sink and oven to match. The colors really complement my orange formica counters and orange wallpaper.


If you need one, they had a pretty sweet black dishwasher for $35 at the Cause For Paws thrift store on Crabtree Blvd.

how much water is standing in the bottom? a little is normal.
buy a cheap oven thermometer and put it in there to check that your temp is correct.
what is the ice maker actually doing?

Could be either thermostat or the heating element.

There's a lot of stuff in with rigid copper. But in retrospect, a dishwasher done this way is ODD.

Granted, they used to be a lot heavier and more permanent than they are now.

I swapped out my water heater lately...it was installed using copper.

^ thats normal, but a dishwasher put in with rigid would be as retarded as an icemaker or something. most of the time flexible copper was used with compression fittings to the sink valve, or now braided flex hose is the norm

I agree that it's retarded to use rigid copper, but it's just what I'm dealing with. I might just rip out the copper and replace it all with a flexi line to the hot water tap for the sink instead of de-soldering this connection and hooking it back up that way. Hell, I don't know if the water connection on the new dishwasher is in the same spot as the old one.

Alright, dishwasher is in. Left the rigid copper for the water hookup, but got rid of it for the rigid copper for the drain pipe. I just cut off the threaded connection to the dishwasher and used a new one with a compression fitting to the connect the copper to the dishwasher.

Next project: Gable vent fan.

Already bought the $53 fan from Home Depot. It was the right size for the square footage of my attic. The more expensive ones were just for bigger attics and I didn't see any that claimed to be quiet. Is there a specific one you would recommend?

as far as the consumer grade ones go, the whisper cool ones are decent, but i would stay the hell away from those master flow ones, i replaced one three times in a summer, and never was able to get a refund from the manufacturer, just replacements, had to buy a different, i'm glad it wasnt my house, you get what you pay for i guess, i told them from the start that it would probably never hold up, but they wanted to go cheap, and ended up paying me to install it 4 times
