I am about to apply for a promotion at a job I've been at for about 5 months. The manager asked me to forward the resume to HR. What is the best way to highlite managerial experience from college? Should I send a cover letter with the resume?

You'd be crazy not to send a cover letter. That will give you a perfect opportunity to highlight your managerial experience.

Well, I'm about to apply to one as well, and I dont think I"ll be turning in a cover letter, mainly b/c I feel pretty comforatble with the people I'm turning my resume in to

^^ I've applied for internal promotions (pharma manufacturing industry) and never needed a cover letter, since the hiring managers already knew me and my work.

if it were a bigger plant/operation/organization, i'd use a cover letter to show how your experience applies to the position posting
