i boguht a few items locally from consignment and/or regualar stores and i'm wondering the legallity of charging sales tax. i know they are supposed to tax things but what if it used??

i imagine you are wondering if things that are used can be taxed - sure they can - people pay tax on used merchandise all the time

the only time you don't have to pay sales tax is when you buy it from a person/entity/company that does not have a presence in the state you are currently in

if you bought the items...you don't have to pay tax.....well you do, but the people that charged you should have included it with the total. They are responsible for paying it, not you is my point.

i think the taxable amount from goods purchased through ebay are supposed to be reported on your tax fillings
