Does anyone know any legitimate work from home, or data entry websites. I have a couple of people who work in our office who get bored during the day, we are worried they will quit if they have nothing better to do...I am thinking since they have computers and time, this idea would be perfect, as they could make money on the side. Let me know if you know anything.

They just have to answer phones and put together brochures, the job doesn't entail much...

I looked into the home typing thing once. I don't know if all companies are like this, but when you sign up, they basically give you a list of companies that hire as needed typists and you have to call each company asking if they have anything for you to type. If they do they'll give you the info, but its def not steady income

Are they hourly or salary? Reason I ask, do company policies permit working for another job during working hours of this job?

Suggestions for things they can do:
-Advanced Degree (if company pays for)
-Become certified in whatever skills/specialities their job description calls for
-Creating your own website ... create training documentation telling others how to do so.
-Computer Skills Training
-Learn one or more foreign languages

I apologize for not answering your original question ... I find it difficult to believe they have "nothing" to do.

Well they only have what we give them. When we're slow, I can't send them home b/c my workload is so great that I can't answer calls and take service request. We only have two of them, they work in a small office with tv's and computers, I would rather see them doing something else with their time than wasting it...

They get paid salary.

I own the company, so policies are whatever I say, and I say they can do whatever they want when they aren't taking my calls.

Both of them are college grads and are proficient in Spanish...(so those two are out). Our IT guy maintains our web stuff, and I made training manuals for exactly how I wanted the job to be when we opened...

So basically, I don't want them to get bored and quit..since they do have degrees...they could really go anywhere.

Basically, I guess we could start training them in Property Preservation, and put all of our phones to Nextel's but I think a company puts on a better face when we have employees physically at our address.

If you are really that carefree about what they do why don't you just ask them what they would want to do with their free time at the office. They might want to work on an advanced degree or certification, maybe they want to make popsicle stick picture frames, or get them TWW accounts.

if they can type quickly and well,

medical transcription. I worked with a transcription company, they couldnt hire people fast enough. 90% of their employees worked straight from home, average pay was about 24 bucks an hour. Average typing speed was 110wpm with 95% accuracy.

It's definitely a legit way to work from home, pretty much the only one I know of

Don't you have to go to school for that? Or have been in the medical field?
Although if they have as much free time as it sounds, they might be able to take any classes they would need online.
