Now this might not seem like it applies to this board, but I think it does. And I can get a more serious answer than in chit chat.

What other message boards do you guys visit when bored at work. Should list name, link, and what its based around(ex: movies, games, school).

I personally only visit this site because I havent run across any that were worthwhile.

I usually have TWW open all day at work, whether I am reading or not. I haven't found a message board or forum that is nearly as active or entertaining.

The "Off Topic" forums at forums.anandtech.com are pretty entertaining and they don't allow inline images/vids and the mods keep the language pretty clean, so it's work safe all the time.

I've found internet comics to be fun. http://www.toothpastefordinner.com http://www.marriedtothesea.com http://www.whiteninjacomics.com http://www.achewood.com are all pretty entertaining, especially if you start at the beginning and read through all of them. That applies most to Achewood, because there are long running plotlines and it references back to events from previous comics from time to time.

For comics I go to www.ctrlaltdel-online.com www.penny-arcade.com and www.vgcats.com. Though vgcats is funny as hell, they only have a new comic once a week.

I read online newspapers at work, since those are pretty much the only websites we can get that aren't news-related. They also have Time and Newsweek online, which I had never read before, and am now considering getting a subscription to.

dooce.com

I kill time there by going back through the archives, and checking out her flickr photos.

Between craigslist, TWW, and news, I keep myself pretty occupied. I also customized my google homepage. I can kill 3 or 4 hours following those links...and those linked there...and from there...

I use to browse Ebay before I found out about tww, but I ended up spending too much cash...

Then It was just TWW...

Then I started reading car forums and TWW, and once again spent too much cash...

So now I just browse TWW...

moral of the story is to stay away from boards that will lead you to spend your money.

My new job blocks all message boards and private email accounts. All I can find to do is check the news and actually work.
