I'm looking for Kary Mullis' original publication regarding the development/discovery of PCR (1983). All I can seem to find is his article appearing in Scientific American but it appears in 1990. Does anyone know of the original publication, or is this all there is?

This is the first ever PCR publication, 2 years after the discovery by Dr. Mullis. The patent was filed in the same year.
