If you don't care about having a "piece of videogame history," I'm sure you could easily find a used copy of the Greatest Hits version at a number of stores. I mean, this was one of the most popular titles of its day, I'm sure there are copies floating around.

Not in rocky mount.I checked all the retail stores, then the EBgames and GameCrazy booths.Amazon to the rescue."65 used & new available from $59.94"[Edited on June 16, 2006 at 3:41 PM. Reason : fuckers. I didnt want to spend more than like $10 on this.]
6/16/2006 3:39:42 PM
59 bucks? That's retarded. Maybe you could find a PC version for less.[Edited on June 16, 2006 at 3:55 PM. Reason : ]
6/16/2006 3:54:58 PM
I think Rocky Mount is the real culprit, here.
6/16/2006 4:07:04 PM
wow even the greatest hits are going for 50 bucks on ebay
6/16/2006 4:15:25 PM

I picked up a cheap copy a couple of years ago (to replace the PC version I originally played).Shouldn't be that hard to just find a used Greatest Hits version.
6/16/2006 5:00:03 PM
you can definetly get the pc version through torrents with ease. Actually, I'm sure you could download the playstation version off of torrents too and either burn it or use an emulator.
6/16/2006 5:12:07 PM
glad i kept my PS1 stuff. even that greatest hits (what i have) sells for like $45-50 on ebay. my copies of FF8 and FF9 aren't greatest hits, but i guess people dont want those games as bad.
6/16/2006 5:46:26 PM
there should be at least 5 copies of ff7 at any eb or gamestop in the country for under $10.that game was mass produced like fuck, it's not at all rare.edit: well damn, it looks like they might've jacked the price up. just get a torrent of the discs and play it on an emulator.[Edited on June 16, 2006 at 6:01 PM. i bought a used copy from EB about a year ago for $7
6/16/2006 6:30:36 PM
i modded my original ps1 so i just have backup copies of FFVII and all those. although i just "inherited" my brothers videogames since he's moving abroad and got a real copy of FFVII now. i can't believe they are selling for more than 10 bucks anywhere. the simple solution is just go online, find a ps1 mod chip install it and then find a torrent of FFVII in iso format. download, burn, enjoy
6/16/2006 7:18:38 PM
Of all the things that sell on eBay for way more than they're worth, I wouldn't expect FFVII to be one of them. Glad I've still got mine.
6/16/2006 8:14:41 PM
Oh wow. Glad I've got my original copy.
6/17/2006 5:17:58 AM
i got one at a gamestop for 5 bucks
6/17/2006 8:18:21 AM
I think it just depends on where you go and if you luck out.http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=986659

This is the perfect way to get over your ex!

I don't know how, but I have two copies of this game; one my original, and the second a greatest hits that magically made its way to my collection of PS1 games while in the military. Great game, by the way.
6/17/2006 10:25:40 AM
I played FFVII a good while after it had been released, and I was ruined by that game. That was probably the first game I ever played at which I just couldn't put down. ...Well, that and the Legend of Zelda. So a remake huh... wow!
6/17/2006 7:57:21 PM
i sold my pc version of ffvii (the trapazoid box) for ~$50 on ebay last year
6/17/2006 8:02:15 PM
I still have a copy of the PC version. I used to have an original, non-greatest-hits copy, but I loaned it to someone and they moved to another state...never heard from them again.
6/17/2006 8:04:50 PM
damn, you got played, hunt that fucker down
6/17/2006 8:05:15 PM
I lost the 3rd disc to my original. Luckily, I snagged a $20 copy of the greatest hits at blockbuster.
6/17/2006 10:06:20 PM
I still have a copy of the PC version I bought off this dude in Becton my freshman year for $5, but it's got a big ass scratch on the 2nd disc now.
6/17/2006 10:36:01 PM
Yeah, I think the PC version is actually harder to find than the PS version.I got the PC version, but I ain't selling.
6/17/2006 10:52:18 PM
those paper holders for the PC versions where terrible on those discs
6/17/2006 11:25:02 PM
haha, yea they were, but that foldout of midgar looked tight
