Damn, and he didn't even take his NCAA rules test yet. it should get better when he is able to actually make recruiting visits.

I'm glad we're getting this Lewandowski kid because we've really been under our quota for tall, goofy looking white kids ever since Adam Simons left.
6/14/2006 2:06:47 PM
i think he's 245 now. but yeah, maybe we can turn him into the next Tommy Burleson. he was damn lanky.
6/14/2006 2:07:05 PM
^^from his specs, he takes tall, goofy kid to a whole new level.[Edited on June 14, 2006 at 2:08 PM. Reason : ^]
6/14/2006 2:07:45 PM
Maybe he'll be a sleeper pick-up, we can probably throw some muscle on him and have him at a decent size. But 7'3" is staggering, haha. That tall and only a 2-Star though has me worried, he might just be all size and no ability.
6/14/2006 2:09:09 PM
it doesn't matter how tall you are, if he only weighs 235, he'll get pushed out of the middle all the time. Shawn Bradley comes to mind.
6/14/2006 2:11:21 PM
we'll get to see how Sidney develops a player fairly quickly.... I'm excited.
6/14/2006 2:11:28 PM
Does anyone have more info. on this Farnold Degand kid? What kind of prospect was he in high school, etc?
6/14/2006 2:12:33 PM
I assume Degand will be sitting out this year?
6/14/2006 2:16:15 PM
I think so.
6/14/2006 2:17:14 PM
this ought to shut the chiken littles up for a while
6/14/2006 2:17:24 PM
Degand when he was in high school was a 6'-3" 160 lb. 2 guard that was a 3 star prospect. he was still young though during his senior year. he turned 17 during the middle of his senior year, when most kids are turning 18. so he has probably built up some muscle and speed, and became a smarter player during his first year of college play and college strength and conditioning. either way it gives us good depth. he'll probably appeal to the NCAA to have another year to play since he had to deal with the coaching fiasco at Iowa State, but he'll have to sit out next year.i hear he's quite the speedy one.[Edited on June 14, 2006 at 2:32 PM. From what has been said by the Iowa State players and coaches, he was the most improved player as he sat out last year. I don't think they're happy theiry losing him.

i'm not sure why people are saying somebody being like shawn bradley is a bad thinghe got significant minutes in the nbaif you are good enough to get PT in the nba you will do great in college
6/14/2006 2:46:37 PM
6/14/2006 2:47:21 PM
haha at that shirt. now that's a guy that can actually wear that shirt. if he gets really good, we might have to have some Poland flags out there.
6/14/2006 2:56:25 PM
think about this he went to a school in Maine. how much attention could he have gotten up there. i mean Maine is more known for hockey than basketball, so if a good player was to come through he, might not get the kind of attention if say he was to have grown up in Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, or any other state known for their basketball. it'd be like a good hockey player coming from NC, going up to play for U. of Michigan, or Boston University.
6/14/2006 3:03:35 PM
^^^he's probably only a two-star because he doesn't have arms.let's get bionic on that guy and get him up to his superstar potential![Edited on June 14, 2006 at 3:14 PM. Reason : ^^^]

this is some of the best news I have seen since the hirethis is great stuff and wonderful pickup with this PG< realllllllllllly wonderful

that tall dude + 50 lbs = profit
6/14/2006 3:23:45 PM
^^^Bartosz Lewandowski, center. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic center. Bartosz Lewandowski will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster. Perhaps more Polish.
6/14/2006 3:24:08 PM
I wonder if he can dunk.

Read these comments and tell me that State/Carolina isnt a rivalry.http://mb23.scout.com/finsidecarolinafrm6.showMessage?topicID=112563.topicthe stupidity in those comments is hilarious. Especially the one about him not getting any play at Iowa State. HE FUCKING REDSHIRTED, HE WANTED TO. DUMBASS QUEERS!Now the big guy can be cracked on, but hell, why not take a chance on him, what do we have to lose for 06 class?[Edited on June 14, 2006 at 6:37 PM. Reason : ]

^ typical of UNC asshole fans. i mean he hasn't even officially been on the job, and he got two guys to commit. i admit they aren't outstanding prospects, but they are going to serve a good purpose, provide bodies for practice and some depth. Degand could turn into a good contributor. he apparently is very quick and has good ball control. sounds like what a point guard is to me. No one really knows anything about the 7-footer, so we don't know what to expect. it's a good sign for being handicapped by a late start. if we get Jamelle McMillan, and some other promising prospects like Dorenzo Hudson, we could continue building on the good foundation we have. all it takes in basketball is one good recruiting class to turn things around for the better. I like the sound of the first two guys. The 7'3" kid is worthless. He'll get more playing time his first year just because we are so thin up front. 5-10 minutes his freshmen year....zero from here on out. I would think we could do a little better. Why not a Juco kid or a I-AA transfer???

being 7-3 will make an impact on defense even if he just stands there. i dont think ive ever seen a college player this tall. even if he completely sucks he will be a nice asset to bring off the bench.i wonder if he can run the floor?

Yay, we re-recruited Adam Simons
6/15/2006 7:44:33 AM
The Polish guy might get some run his jr and sr years, but for now he'll just be a good practice player. Keep in mind that we can have up to 13 scholarship players on our team, and Herb typically only had around 10 or 11. Not a bad idea to fill that bench.
6/15/2006 8:56:03 AM
I'm sure Burleson wasn't much thicker than this guy coming in

Fire Lowe! Yeah, it is going to be tough for about 3-4 years, but you should have known that Herb Haters.

anyone heard anything about McCauley lately? or Brackman? I know the rumors were going around for a little while that McCauley was looking to transfer to ASU but I never heard anything else.. im just wondering who our center would be if McCauley did end up leaving and Brackman decided to stick with Baseball(which is what I would do if I were him)[Edited on June 15, 2006 at 1:43 PM. Shawn Bradley had skills. I could be wrong, but I think he was highly recruited coming out of high school. He was also 7'6".

Shawn Bradley also left basketball to do his mormon mission before beginning his disappointing career in the NBA.
