Now that I have made great progress restoring my old Porsche to a drivable, cosmetically appealing state, I am selling the car that helped me get through that period: a 1995 Volvo 850 T5-R. This is the same as the 850R that followed it for two years, 240hp turbo inline 5 cylinder, anthracite wheels, suede/leather seats and steering wheel, climate control, traction control, side airbags - all the toys Volvo ever threw at the 850.The car has ~105k miles and is in very good shape. In the last year I have had the transmission flushed, the A/C recharged and driver's side CV joint replaced (actually the C/V joint will be replaced this week). There are a few minor scuffs and door dings, but nothing any more serious than that. Please email me if you have any questions or would like me to send more pictures. Also, undoubtedly someone will say "you're asking above kbb" - if you know what this car is, you know what it's worth, and I'm not in a huge rush to sell it, so the price is what it is.

Fuck - way to go posting at midnight Nick - try $7000 flat. I copied the text from here, but the price didn't transfer:http://charlotte.craigslist.org/car/170947647.html

$5000
6/13/2006 10:31:00 AM

^^ that's probably the highest semi-realistic opening bid I've seen on tww - not that I'd take it though

you have any more pictures of the car? i'm pretty interestedwhat kinda mpg do you get? i can't access the reviews i want to read on it. any mechanical probs other than the CV joint?
6/13/2006 12:28:16 PM
^ send me a pm or im with your email address and i'll send some higher res pics, interior and such.Mechanically the car is in great shape and all power accessories work smoothly. The only remaining issue after the cv joint is replaced is to check the front brakes - they work fine but are slightly audible - probably just the cross drilled rotors the previous owner put on the car.

wow, 5k is well woth it for this thing, is it even a manual?
6/13/2006 1:41:26 PM
all the R versions are automatic
6/13/2006 1:48:16 PM
how bout the timing belt? new one on there, needs it round 100k?
6/13/2006 1:58:01 PM
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=60010year newer, less mileage, new timing belt, and even 1k less, can you say overpriced?
6/13/2006 7:13:05 PM
I always liked my friend's S70 T5 (Manual), that shit had a lot of torque and sounded great IMO.
6/13/2006 7:16:57 PM
^^ tbelt was done at 85k i think - will have to dig up the receipt though... that one doesn't have the R-wheels - it's aesthetic only, but makes a difference. also no used car price is firm - there is slight negotiation room, and there has been some interest.

Are you serious???? I could get a 1999 Volvo S80 fully loaded w/ the same miles for that price. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice vehicle and I love Volvos, I have two myself, but your car isn't worth 7 G's

lots of interest in the last couple days - bttt
6/14/2006 7:39:53 PM
1 - I never said the S80 was a great car and it's a shame that Volvo discontinued the 850's cause they were the shit2 - I co-own a car dealership and yes I can get a 99 S-80 for that price in good condition and that's not wholesale3 - You can buy a first year vehicle if you purchase it a few years later (Example: Cadillac discontinued the Devilles, Sevilles, and Eldorados, but you can still purchase the later year models brand new

this is not a bmw
6/17/2006 2:02:49 PM
^ correct - there are both positive and negative aspects to it not being a bmwupdate on the sale process - have interest from a couple of people though no official offers yet
6/19/2006 11:11:56 AM
11 years old, fwd, automatic. People that sell cars like this guy piss me off. The rims look nice though.

bttt - have a couple people coming to look at it next week - after I get back from vacation on sunday that is (so to those hating on it - the price must not be too out of line - and as i've said - it is somewhat negotiable)
