I'll post here from now on about my car. This will show what I have, the work, and final results.Today my remote oil pumps arrived.Freebie: 6 370cc 300ZX TT fuel injectorsFirst bithttp://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=389653Some partshttp://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=394119Rolled my fenders to fit wider tireshttp://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=412285The historyFrom this with just wheels and upgraded speakers.New wheels, look at the gapThen I got new suspension installedThe old stereoThe exhaust, old and newHood scoop and custom intake addedThe missing interiorNot that anyone cares, but that is the life of the maxima to date. The wideband is scheduled for next week. Then I have plumbing and install left. didnt you have some tacky ass ford wheels on there for a little while?[Edited on June 7, 2006 at 10:50 PM. Reason : did you pass 700 yet?]
6/7/2006 10:48:48 PM

I think think those actually look really good. It's just a clean 5 spoke design. Just my $.02.

6/8/2006 12:35:38 AM
so if i were to get a 99 maxima with 30,000 miles for 7k (uncle's mom drove it) about how much do you think i would be able to sell it for (without keeping it for sale forever)
6/8/2006 12:48:16 AM
you plan to keep that after you graduate? most people just upgrade once they get some $cheese
6/8/2006 1:45:25 AM
thought he was going to play with it and add two turbos on it... somehow.
6/8/2006 2:29:41 AM
Yes, I plan on keeping it after I graduate. I have had this car for over 6 years so far.The point of this thread is showing the turbos go on.
6/8/2006 9:53:55 AM
i can't fathom why you would chose that car as a platform for "build up" but whatever floats your boat... i like the color... just not a fan of the mustang wheels
6/8/2006 7:27:43 PM
IMO, if you are going to rip out interior, rip every piece out that you can. im talkin carpet, panels and everyting, not just a dash and some seats.now if you are club racing, and they require a dash, or a door panel, then ok.
6/8/2006 7:33:27 PM
i just recently built up to 56k posts myself
6/8/2006 7:34:01 PM
^nice...
6/8/2006 8:03:46 PM
The car no longer has any sound deadening or carpet. It is fully stripped.I already have this car, and in a way "love it", so that is why I chose this platform to build off of.The pulled fenders are slightly evident in these pictures.[Edited on June 8, 2006 at 8:46 PM. Reason : pictures][Edited on June 8, 2006 at 8:47 PM. Reason : .]
6/8/2006 8:18:49 PM
Timeout. What are you using for a manifold?
6/9/2006 5:49:03 PM
when is this going to be build up pictures?
6/9/2006 5:56:42 PM
It will pull a dead Volvo like nobodys business
6/9/2006 5:56:43 PM
My new fuel injectors arive on monday, I'm picking up the oil pumps from greensboro tomorrow, my wideband is in the mail. In less than three weeks, I should start and complete the install. My wideband is a LC-1 fromhttp://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=150These are the last parts that I needed to price hunt for.The piping and plumbing is being ordered in less than a week.
6/9/2006 6:29:23 PM
What did you pull the fenders with?
6/9/2006 7:39:46 PM
volvo's are tanks! How can you move them?
6/9/2006 7:39:59 PM
I like the mustang rims.
6/9/2006 8:12:59 PM
6/9/2006 8:57:55 PM
6/9/2006 9:44:31 PM
I pulled the fenders with a $6 baseball bat.Yeah, I towed the 3600lb volvo with my maxima about 7 miles to its current location.
6/9/2006 11:38:57 PM
all this for an auto
6/10/2006 12:51:02 AM
Its his car man, he loves it.Lay off.
6/10/2006 12:42:28 PM
are those mustang wheels?
6/10/2006 12:49:50 PM
i really hope you took the stereo/subs out when you gutted the interior...
6/10/2006 2:56:22 PM
shenanigans
6/11/2006 11:27:45 AM
yes, those are mustang rims
6/11/2006 11:58:14 AM
I have a new engine and trans in line for when I blow this one. My friend's dad 'collects' maxima, and has 5 of them. I am going to buy one, build the motor, and swap in the manual transmision. Cost of new car (engine, trans, body) is $800. So much for the "all this for an auto" comment.Yes, they are mustang wheels. I am currently looking for a set of '95 Mustang Cobra R wheels. There is only a head unit and 4.5'' speakers in the car now as far as the stereo goes.
6/11/2006 8:58:13 PM
i wanna see this shit done.
6/11/2006 10:18:50 PM
I wholeheartedly support this project. I'll be truly impressed when it's finished. Mike
6/11/2006 11:50:18 PM

6/11/2006 11:50:57 PM
damn bmw fags (that don't visit raleigh)
6/11/2006 11:53:00 PM
what ever happened to that bumper you were working on over at my and Jeepman's place
6/12/2006 12:19:06 AM
It's only 4 maxima's (3 '92/'93 SEs, 1 '95) and a drivetrain. 5 would include the one my brother totaled. Come on man, get it straight.
6/12/2006 12:06:05 PM
you must be from CLT since you took a picture in front of the sweet arboritum theater, nice job on the car too[Edited on June 12, 2006 at 3:21 PM. Reason : _]
6/12/2006 3:20:30 PM
Yeah, I'm from Charlotte.
6/12/2006 8:04:08 PM
Didn't you already replace the suspension?Personally I would finish the turbos, then worry about suspension. You may find your needs changing a lot once you get the pwr up.
6/12/2006 8:40:57 PM
Not bashing at all, 100% out of curiousity...What is the purpose of this car?If you're not going to track/autox it, then I don't think you need coilovers. Even if you do, unless you're planning on getting pretty serious about it, again... I don't think they're necessary. Sure, if you have the cheddar for both power mods and suspension, then who cares, why the hell not... but that doesn't seem like the issue.^bwn?[Edited on June 12, 2006 at 9:13 PM. Reason : .]

i think i saw you comin off the beltline earlie today. i was laughing about mustang rims on a maxima.
6/12/2006 9:26:49 PM
I do autocross the maxima. I probably don't need the coils, but I am still looking for stiffer suspension. It is possible that you saw me. I went to Souther States Mazda as well as the Cary AAA today for work. I love being payed to drive around raleigh.
6/12/2006 9:41:04 PM
I thought you already had coilovers. What's the advantage of this set?
6/12/2006 9:46:47 PM
I have replaced the springs and struts with Eibach Prokit springs, and tokico Blue struts. The coilovers are stiffer, have dampening adjustability, and have adjustable height. All in all, they perform better.
6/12/2006 10:33:08 PM
damping not dampeningif you're not going to adjust the height/damping/spring rate, coilovers are useless. you wont see a performance gain unless you are driving the car very hard. unless you plan to race it and want to be competitive, keep what you have.
6/12/2006 10:43:07 PM
Sounds like I will be sticking with the turbo first. The oil pumps are sitting in front of me now. I'll have the oil lines by the end of the week. Then I just need to buy exhaust tubing.
6/12/2006 10:47:33 PM
Not to give you a hard time, but this whole "plumbing" matter is hardly trivial... Please explain how you plan to bolt up a turbo to an N/A manifold. Is there some kind of adapter you have purchased or fabricated? Or do you have a whole different manifold? I think it's really ghetto that you don't have an intercooler, even a shitty side or top-mounted one.Did you modify the oil pan for the oil lines? What are you doing for coolant lines?
