told ya so
6/7/2006 1:44:23 AM
if only there was a thread to post something related to the Oilers-Canes series....
6/7/2006 1:44:40 AM
if we only cared what the fuck the oilers thought...
6/7/2006 1:48:37 AM
^^ why should this get lost in the game thread? i think this merits a unique thread.^ you probably should since it wouldn't be good for us if the nhl agrees with the oilers, and sanctions brind'amour or the 'canes somehow.[Edited on June 7, 2006 at 1:49 AM. Reason : ]
6/7/2006 1:49:01 AM
^ not going to happen
6/7/2006 1:50:21 AM
k, fine. it still provides another reason to make fun of the oilers through the series, and when we win the cup.
6/7/2006 1:53:23 AM
They have to find something to bitch about since they can't say we hurt their goally (that is correct) in order to win. Brindy has been taking face-offs for a good while now. You would think that if something was wrong with how he lined up that at least one of the 83249832787598495 linesman/refs would have seen it.
6/7/2006 4:37:49 AM
That's not cheating even if it's true. It's just a referee's discretion.[Edited on June 7, 2006 at 7:11 AM. Reason : .]

oilers=pussies
6/7/2006 7:40:01 AM
Tough call. On one hand they should have waited until the finals are over. If they won the Stanley Cup then they could have avoided crying and looking like babies all together. On the other hand if they lost and waited until the end to cry then everyone would know they are sore losers. The only real course of action for them to take would be to man up and beat the Canes outright without crying foul at every turn.[Edited on June 7, 2006 at 8:06 AM. Horcoff is just a little steamed that brind'amour won 80% of his draws where he only drew 30%, that and Cam Ward robbed the shit out of him twice.

Goddammit. All the good faceoff men cheat. It's well-known. Brindy has been teaching his style to Staal; if you watch, Staal has started to line up on angle and cheat his right skate inside the hash mark when he wants a pull to the inside point man.I honestly can't believe that Bob McKenzie of all people has latched on to this, because he knows better. Horcoff used the word "cheat" in a completely innocent way. If he thought Brindy was a dirty player, he'd have said so.
6/7/2006 9:35:50 AM
for the recordrod brind'amour is a canadian

I'm sure when we won the cup, the oilers gonna whine about how we cheated our way to win it. I hope we get a sweep. That'll show them.
6/7/2006 9:43:39 AM
6/7/2006 9:48:19 AM
all canadians except the ones on our team are gay, how about that?
6/7/2006 9:53:59 AM
This thread is stupid.
6/7/2006 9:54:45 AM
so....the man known as the most dominant face-off player is called a cheat ONLY when a team loses to them in the cup finals? interesting.this is all about [Edited on June 7, 2006 at 9:56 AM. Reason : 4]
6/7/2006 9:55:36 AM
why dont the oilers ask the sabres how to beat brindamour?? Cuz he sure wasnt winning the same amount of faceoffs in those last few games of that series as he usually was
6/7/2006 9:57:01 AM
It's worth noting that in games where Brindy doesn't win his usual percentage of draws, he's often taking all of the important ones himself, against any and all of the opposition's quality centermen. Kevyn Adams is very good on draws, but the dynamic of the Adams/Adams/LaRose line is more important to the team than Kevyn's skill in the circle.

Nine years, eight seasons.
6/7/2006 10:38:57 AM
didnt they play in greensboro for a season?
6/7/2006 10:45:27 AM

So...because they haven't scored points(yet...) means you shouldn't know who they are?Could you understand anything any less?
6/8/2006 3:02:49 PM
he's stuck on the philosophy of 4th line = sucky players. Doesn't understand that each line has their own specialized abilities and are necessary for success.
6/8/2006 3:09:32 PM
He also doesn't watch the games, seeing as Adams/Adams/LaRose take the first shift after every power play, the second shift after every goal, and the first shift after every penalty kill. Also, K. Adams/LaRose are the second 4-man PK forward pair, and if one of them is in the box, C. Adams fills in. The kill pairs are staggered so that Brind'Amour/Williams go out first, then Adams/LaRose, then Brind'Amour/Williams finish the kill so that Adams/Adams/LaRose can play the first full shift back at full strength. It's also worth noting that Chad LaRose has been the victim of ridiculous point-blank saves by Huet, Brodeur, and Miller.[Edited on June 8, 2006 at 3:55 PM. All I'm saying is that there are a grand total of 25 players on the Hurricanes roster, 20 of whom play almost every night. There's no reason not to know them all.

this may be news to some of you.....but this is the 'new' NHL
6/9/2006 12:22:56 AM
That's right. The new NHL has many more take aways instead of waterskiing that results in dump-ins.
6/9/2006 12:31:02 AM
look at how well the most physical teams did this year
6/9/2006 1:13:27 AM
There's a difference between being a physical team and having a checking line. They play an important role for the Canes, even though LaRose was given the boot as a "Welsey might die tonight" precaution in the last game.As a side note, I hate Kevyn Adams with a hatred that knows no bounds.
6/9/2006 1:19:54 AM
^^ The Oilers are both a physical team AND a soft-trapping team, so yeah, look at that.
6/9/2006 1:35:10 AM
kevyn adams is the shit. and dont edit that to say 'is shit.'
6/9/2006 4:59:34 AM
I only have one hockey jersey with a non-goalie name on the back. That name is "K. ADAMS".I'll admit that he's taken some dumb penalties during the playoffs, specifically after whistles, but he works hard, is great on draws, is great on the PK, and has a wicked backhand (it made Melrose say "HOLY MAN!" for chrissakes).
6/9/2006 5:07:51 AM
6/9/2006 7:39:14 AM
oh well everyone will forget this after the canes win 4-0
