Why is this different from a football or basketball player being allowed to make money playing minor league ball? He's not making money from playing football. It's a different sport, so what is the problem? [Edited on June 5, 2006 at 3:30 PM. Reason : ]

Its not different, and they aren't allowed to do it.

They aren't allowed to do what? Make money playing baseball?Because they are allowed to play minor league ball & make money, but still play NCAA basketball/football (Chris Weinke, Ricky Williams, Trajan Langdon, etc.).[Edited on June 5, 2006 at 3:37 PM. Reason : ]

Jeremy Bloom is different, not this guy

You can make prize money & still compete. Jeremy Bloom was allowed to collect his skiing winnings. The problem with his case is that he wanted to collect sponsorship deals, in addition to prize money.[Edited on June 5, 2006 at 3:39 PM. Reason : ]
