So it looks like the home & home w/ Tennessee got "shelved". That's pretty gay if you ask me...I was totally looking forward to going to the UT game @ Knoxville just to say I'd been to that stadium once in my life.http://www.thestate.com/mld/thestate/sports/14721307.htm

shitshitshit
6/2/2006 11:40:10 PM
so did tenn drop us? either way, some football program we have
6/2/2006 11:40:48 PM
who gives a fuckat least SC went to a bowl last year
6/2/2006 11:42:11 PM
i wanna say this is pretty [old]
6/2/2006 11:47:41 PM
I'm pretty sure it never graced this forum...could be wrong. And no, I'm pretty sure CHUCK had everything to do w/ the Tenn games getting dropped. He doesn't want to not go to his precious "bowl games"...
6/2/2006 11:51:08 PM
Ummm in 2008/2009 South Carolina will be the better team.I mean I hate Spurrier but damn if he isn't a coach.Fullmer is going downhill.
6/2/2006 11:51:13 PM
It's not about the "better team" per se. Even during the Notre Dame time w/ the now-Washington guy as their coach (name has escaped me), it would've been sweet to play Notre Dame."Tennessee" is just a football school that demands respect/TV time. South Carolina....not so much yet.
6/2/2006 11:53:05 PM
tyrone willingham
6/2/2006 11:54:16 PM
yep thanks
6/2/2006 11:57:19 PM
I WILL POOP MY PANTS IF WE GET THE CHANCE TO SOCK IT TO THE SHAMECOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6/3/2006 12:00:14 AM
south carolina will actually be better for tv, imo, because of spurrier. the media loves him, and amato too for that matter.i still would prefer the matchups with tennessee. i see them as a rival of sorts.
6/3/2006 12:18:31 AM
6/3/2006 12:20:55 AM
you see the university of tenn as a rival .... ?
6/3/2006 1:54:25 AM
only is by rival he means recruiting rival
6/3/2006 9:35:23 AM
guess the "Suck My Gamecock" chant will have to be revived...and maybe it'll be nationally televised, so the sports media can rip us for that too...
6/3/2006 9:54:39 AM
That is some bullshit! I was really looking forward to that game in 2008 in Knoxville. I grew up in Knoxville and have been to about a hundred games there. If you haven't been to a game in Neyland Stadium, you should. It is one of the best college venues in the country. Screw Chuck for ducking that h&h (if thats what happened).
6/3/2006 10:59:33 AM
and if it's Tenn that ducked out?sidenote... is it really hard to type out NCSU or NC State? do they ahve to keep refering to us as a "North Carolina series" in that article?i mean, would they like it if someone refered to a series with Clemson as taht South Carolina Series... or a series with South Carolina State (not that anyone cares about SCS)
6/3/2006 11:04:29 AM
Off topic, but why have South Carolina and North Carolina never played each other in basketball and football in recent memory (15 years)?
6/3/2006 11:14:08 AM
Well, if UT "shelved" the h&h then fuck them, but I don't know why they would unless they had to make room for a Texas, Ohio State, Miami, etc.
6/3/2006 11:19:26 AM
We are such a bad team to play. Nothing very good comes out of beating us, becuase we are not very recognizable, and if they lose then its another L for them. We are at the point, like a lot of teams, that we are a dangerous average team, and no good comes from playing teams like that for the big boys, ie Tennessee, Florida, USC, ND, etc.
6/3/2006 11:28:56 AM
that's why I don't like playing ECU.
6/3/2006 1:45:15 PM
^exactlyhaha we can't act like its so horrible that Tennessee dropped us (if that is the case) when we think the very same thing of ECU
6/3/2006 1:47:39 PM
6/3/2006 1:53:45 PM
yeah that's stupidwasn't SC usually in the pepsi challenge or whatever it was called
6/3/2006 2:44:42 PM
damn
6/3/2006 5:21:38 PM
6/3/2006 5:28:19 PM
hathat's called living in your own ass
6/3/2006 5:32:22 PM
haha, yeah[Edited on June 3, 2006 at 5:35 PM. Reason : d]
6/3/2006 5:35:38 PM
i drove past Williams-Bryce last weekend. Its probably the 2nd ugliest college stadium I've ever seen up close, with #1 being the craptacular home of Vanderbilt football, whatever their stadium is.I'll take this, but only so we can have a shot at beating Spurrier. [Edited on June 3, 2006 at 10:31 PM. Reason : .]
6/3/2006 10:28:09 PM
first of all, referring to south carolina as usc should be illegalsecond...south carolina, academics, LO-FUCKING-L
6/3/2006 10:34:58 PM
there wasn't a chance in the world I could fit "South Carolina" in the thread title
6/3/2006 11:13:48 PM
6/4/2006 8:43:56 AM
AMEN.....My sister had a 2.4 GPA when she graduated high school. She didn't get accepted to ECU, State or Wilmington BUT WAS ACCEPTED TO SOUTH CAROLINA.
6/4/2006 9:24:13 PM
6/4/2006 10:28:53 PM
^ Yep. Chuck was pretty against the series, actually. I can't blame him based on the crap that'll likely happen at the stadium(s).
6/4/2006 10:46:03 PM
is ND still on our 07 schedule or did they really drop us to play that other school?
6/5/2006 10:15:06 AM
well, i like the fact that we are trying to schedule some big boysfor now we'll have to consistently beat the big boys we will actually play, like FSU & Miami. Winning against BC & Va Tech and not losing to Carolina would be key too.
6/5/2006 10:26:15 AM
6/5/2006 10:43:27 AM
im glad we are renewing this rivalry[Edited on June 5, 2006 at 12:41 PM. Reason : ]
6/5/2006 12:40:49 PM
this sucks Tenn U (minus last year's football record) >>>>>>> USC
6/5/2006 2:13:41 PM
6/5/2006 2:23:45 PM
presumably, if we played well enough to be worth scheduling there would at least be a chance we would play VT or Miami in the championship game...not a good chance, but a chance...(not a chance this year though)
6/5/2006 2:26:53 PM
damniti would much rather have travelled to TN
6/5/2006 8:39:11 PM
i am excited to go to columbia!
