Playmakers is hiring for floaterswhat does a floater do?basically he (usually he's but she's can apply) does 2 things.1) pick up empty glasses/beer bottles, clear tables and clean them (bus them), sometimes barback a little (wash glassware, put glassware away).2) sweep and mop at the end of the night and take out the garbage.we also expect you to sometimes check IDs if alot of underagers are in there and trying to sneak drinks from others and such. (some bouncer like responsibilities)relatively really easy work.pay is $7.50/hr plus tips.tips range anywhere from $30 up to $100+/night averaging around $40-$70 right now. so really good money for easy work. tips increase once fall rolls around (football season)plus you work in a great sports bar, great staff, great clienteland the opportunity for a bartending position if one opens up. we are hiring for all nights if you are interested stop by Playmakers during the hours of 2-4 and ask for an application. the owner is almost always there. playmakers is located on hillsborough st. across from Merideth college. next to Quiznos and Ben and Jerrys.

any chance they'd hire someone just for about two months? I'm taking some trips out of the country this summer, then leaving to study abroad in the fall, but I need a job bad. Not that it requires much training, but I did similar stuff at another restaurant if that helps any.
6/2/2006 11:32:11 PM
So don't tell them it's for two months? You can mention that detail in a month and a half.
6/2/2006 11:36:05 PM
yea, i would. but one of my trips is june 20th. then im back two weeks later. then leave a week later. then im back for a while til i go to study abroad.sporadic trips.
6/3/2006 12:31:50 AM
how many hours? and what hours do you work?
6/3/2006 3:21:56 AM
hours are usually from 5 till close (between 10pm - 2:30 am) sometimes we'll want you to come in for afternoons (if theres a game on).once football season starts there will be more hours.i dont know about the vacation stuff. you can talk to the owner but be upfront about it. dont screw us over if you're only planning on working a few weeks. we're looking to hire people who will work with us through the busy season (football, basketball) and those who stick around will get better shifts and more $$tips$$ (plus if you have restaurant experience and do a good job - always the possibility of a bartending spot)
