http://www.sptimes.com/2006/06/01/Rays/Hamilton_temporarily_.shtmlI really wish Josh would get things together and hopefully it works out this go around.

6/1/2006 4:45:01 PM
I do, personally because I know him and his family very well and I wish him the best.
6/1/2006 4:46:24 PM
All that talent and drugs ruined it all didn't he learn anything from David Thompson and Len Bias
6/1/2006 4:49:16 PM
is this the guy who went to hs around here
6/1/2006 9:45:02 PM

6/1/2006 9:45:53 PM
ADHS c/o 1999
6/1/2006 10:20:51 PM
haha, I went to the same highschool as him.
6/1/2006 11:28:19 PM
can you say crack, lsd, roids, shrooms, etc.
6/1/2006 11:50:35 PM
Yes, we know he has/had problems, and I'm sure he battles them everyday, but I would like to see him succeed. I played against him in HS and would like nothing more than to see him succeed.
6/2/2006 8:35:40 AM
But a kid can only get so many chances, and hes had MANY. As a GM i wouldnt take a risk on this kid (Not really a kid anymore after the years of suspensions)[Edited on June 2, 2006 at 10:40 AM. Reason : then again, what do the drays have to lose]
6/2/2006 10:38:16 AM
in 2 Ab's vs him, i was 1-for-2 with a lucky triple, and i struk out on 3 pitches (the last was a 93 mph SLIDER)And in two appearances vs him on the mound, he was 2-for-2 with a homerun and a linedrive that nearly killed our shorstop.
6/2/2006 10:40:06 AM
^lol, no doubt hes got skills
6/2/2006 10:40:52 AM
He was a natural, that doesn't go away. If for no other reason, just to see what he's got.
6/2/2006 10:48:41 AM
I hope they ban him from the league. Don't let him back in if you have god given talent and want to waste it the go ahead. Today ball players do whatever they want and get away with it and get second chances.
6/5/2006 11:34:12 AM
shut the fuck up if someone gave me $3 million id do the same damn thing.Just because you dont know how to have fun and have to grind out a living by humping a crappy day job doesnt mean he has to sacrfice his life for you.
6/5/2006 12:03:13 PM
6/5/2006 12:08:30 PM
well no not that tattoos part those are stupid. But you're goddam right about the drugs.Everyone who is young and rich does drugs. thats just the way it is.listen, drugs are probably the best thing in the world. id rank them right above sex, rollercoasters, and strawberries. If i had an endless supply of strawberries id never leave the fucking house. The only problem is they do tend to derail your life and thats why normal people cant afford to do them regularly. but if you make lots of money and dont have real commitments and can get by on natural talent then theres no reason NOT to do them while you can get away with it.Vacations sound great... but once you've been a lot of cool places whats the difference? vacations are 10x better with drugs. Sure, he should have been a little smarter about the whole thing. A true dependent knows you have to do just enough in life to keep the supply coming. You are right, in some regards he did fuck up. He needs to find a way to make big money again because once you've lived his life style theres really no appeal to grinding it out for one gram at a time. That's why he's trying to make this comeback. Its not for the love of the game, his family, his legacy, or any of that bullshit. Its to buy more drugs.[Edited on June 5, 2006 at 12:27 PM. Reason : a]
6/5/2006 12:26:50 PM
I agree somewhat with rally, if any of us had the money, we'd buy alot of shit, not necessarily drugs, but maybe some things we don't need.He has obviously matured, hence why he is trying to make a comeback, but we all know that drugs are a hard monkey to get off your back. I wish him well, and you should too, if for no other reason to see a once drug addict kick it and make something of himself. It could turn out to be inspirational, you never know.

You're kidding yourself if you think this guy has a shot in hell of staying clean for the rest of his life. He's an addict. Right now baseball is nothing more than an enabler for him.$8/hour jobs don't interest him because grams don't interest him. He's just trying to squeak out one big contract so he can binge again. He's not going to be able to change his mentality until he hits rock bottom. He's not even close yet. He still has $75,000 for gods sake. He still has his wife, his kids haven't given up on him, his family hasn't given up on him, major league baseball and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays haven't given up on him.Wait til he's 40, alone, penniless, and broken. THEN, he can start the road to recovery.Until then he's just a rat hitting the pellet feeder for a fix. It doesn't mean he's a bad person, it just means he's an addict.
6/8/2006 11:48:11 AM
rallydurham is pretty much hitting the nail on the head herebut the part that all his "friends" on here keep forgetting to mention is that he is a fucking narc... and he fucked a lot of people over to save his own ass. fucking coward piece of shit. i hope he overdoses.
6/10/2006 2:11:40 AM
yo, spill the beans on that. Did he actually get caught with white, or did he have to give names when he failed the MLB drug tests or something?

jesus, how many second chances has this guy got already?
6/30/2006 6:24:37 PM
^When you're that damn good, you'll likely always get one more chance...He won't be in the minor's long if he stays clean, that's for sure.

maaan I couldn't care less about some drug user selling out his druggie friends. I'm surprised anyone thinks he's a "sellout" for that.

The moral of this thread has to be: "Don't do strawberries kids, they'll make you lose all your money like Josh Hamilton"
7/1/2006 4:24:24 PM
the moral of this thread will hopefully be that you can turn your life around in a positive way no matter how deep of a hole you dig yourself.i wish him the best, and all of us who know him and saw him play his pre-professional baseball in this area should do the same.if he stays clean, why shouldn't we be proud of him?
