i recently had to reformat my laptop but cant get the setting back to the widescreen format. ive tried the display properties but its not letting me change the settings past 1024 x 768.

well on the CPU you have to bridge pin 1 to pin 14 with a soldering iron and that'll enable the MMX technology to use its 3DNow! functionality, giving you widescreenhaha nah get the drivers from the manufacturer's site

^ what he said, the latter part i mean. the manufacturer's website should have all the drivers for your laptop.

ok so i installed the drivers and the display is only allowing me to go to 1280 x 800. before i had to reinstall i had a higher resolution, but now i cant change it to a higher resolution.

i followed hps instructions to reinstall everything. i reinstalled with the recovery cds and such, but the display won't go any larger than it is currently at. hp zv5240us

-Right click on Desktop, click Properties-Click Appearance tab-Change "Font size" drop down menu selection to "Normal"-Click OK
