well i sold my mirra 540 (2005) it was pretty beaten up and a kid traded me 200 dollars and a good running pocket bike so i couldnt refuse..picked up this bike http://tinyurl.com/rctqgtell me what you guys think. and what my future mods should be.should i throw a smaller sprocket on to make it easier for riding out long wheelies?> also is this new bike better than the old one. it's 2 years older or so but it looks like it came with better components and msrp'd for more.my old bike: <a href=" (before it was torn up)[Edited on May 31, 2006 at 10:38 PM. You need to put a 12 bar on the lil pocket bike

we can barely ride it anywhere. the muffler fell of so it's really loud and cops get called wherever we take it. my friends were banned from my old hs after taking i there. bhaha

ok here's the deal, first off, you bought a left side drive bike...you have no need for that if you are asking questions that have the word wheelie in them, people will just be like who the hell is this dumbass if you ever are around anyone that knows anything about bikes with the bikenext, you do not want to change the gear ratio to ride a wheelie, if you notice, you have a bmx bike, it is too small to pedal into what you call a wheelie anyways, my advice is learn how to manual. (a manual is a wheelie that you don't pedal in but rather are standing leaning back with your arms straight using your legs and bending your knees to keep the front wheel off the ground) its very simple and takes little practice and you won't look like a tool trying to do a "wheelie"if you do change the sprocket size, you also want to change the cassette size if you have a cassette wheel, if its a freewheel in the back then you change that, people have traditionally chaged the size of chainring on a bmx bike in order to help with clearance issues they have while riding in skateparks or if they grind rightsided to help get the drivetrain out of the way...this is also the main reason for having a leftside drive bike, however nearly everyone that grinds right keeps their drivetrain on the right as well because finding parts for a leftside drive bike is not as easy and not quite as much stuff is available in addition to the fact that it is useless.if you attempt any "mods" make sure you know what you're doing, its better to pay someone that knows their shit to work on your bike than to try to do it yourself when you're putting on your new $250. pair of rightside drive profile cranks than to not prep them right and have them siezed on there when you need to get them off to replace the bottom bracket bearings or some shit...as far as mods go, you should stick to profile cranks, 170mm; kink bars are cool; primo grips are the diggity dank; the primo saddle with the plastic on it stands up to alot, double wall rims, 48h is the most you ever ever want, i'd go with a lower spoke count and a decent wheelset, alex makes good shit as well as sunringle, haro makes cool wheels as well. theres alot of options out there, but remember, your best is ebay and buying a real bike, not a punk ass teenagers bike...sure, there are older guys that ride bmx and are badass at it but you are not one of them, anyone can ride a mountain bike and get away with it....now if you take my advice and sell that shit, let me know and i'll tell you some good mountainbikes to get for just a little bit more money that you can have alot more fun on.[Edited on June 5, 2006 at 11:54 AM. also, you bought a freestyle bike...this whole scene went out in the mid 90's for good, and it should have left much sooner....these are the guys that spin around holding the pegs and shit in circles and hop around on the bike...no grinding, no jumping (this is also another reason for a lefside drive) its pretty much a showoff thing and everyone even people that dont know shit think its gay. definately get new bars (2 piece) to replace the 4 piece i think you have now, get rid of the front brake, get rid of the gyro, that is unless you plan on riding freestyle , if thats the case, then i don't even know.and you should put just 2 pegs on 1 side, your grind side (typically left) unless you are goofy footed then its the right

well make sure the hub rotates in the correct direction.....most times there are two rear sprockets so you can have two gear ratios....not so you can switch the side of your drivetrainnot to be a dick, but why did you buy a bike that you dont know much abou?
6/5/2006 1:49:16 PM
each rear sprocket is 16tooth. this bmx hobby is just something my friends do to stay outta trouble. cary is hella boring.[Edited on June 5, 2006 at 3:39 PM. Reason : on my old mirra they said i could switch the drivetrain back and forth if i wanted. ]they being all star bike shop.[Edited on June 5, 2006 at 3:40 PM. Reason : sadf]

yeah i saw that vid and took out my mountain bike tryin to do it.. didnt work. think i need to air up the tires to 80psi and throw some oil on da ground.
7/6/2006 12:01:23 AM
holy shit kyle what did you go and buy.... hahahaha... for my two cents:left drive isnt a problem. you got a sealed BB, that is coolditch the gyro, and most likely the front brakesadd linear cable for rear brakes/odyssey brake leveryes, get some different bars - cut seatpost short, lower seat and move it farther rear on the post.get rid of the pegs unless you plan on grinding
