Figured I'd elaborate on it in here. I'm sure most of yall know about my BMW project car at this point. Well as usual I have too much shit happening in my professional life to devote much time to it, but I want the damn thing to a rolling chassis by the end of the year.So if any of yall want to make some pocket money for the summer, I want to hire on someone to get the damn thing going again. I can afford to pay someone for like 15-20 hrs a week for a month or so of work. Most of what needs to be done it bodywork and fabrication right now. Here's a basic (very basic) rundown of what I'd like to get done by christmas, so it's what I'm looking for help with:Cout the front frame rails and part of the fender wells, tubing in new frame rails that will fit the subi front subframe, mounting and engine placement, cutting out/modifying the tranmission tunnel to accomodate the bigger transmission, and modifying the shock towers as necessary to fit.i plan on using the original BMW rear end, as its got independent rear (archaic as it is) and can handle ~200hp through the diff, which should be PLENTY. I need to get a new gear set for it to make it match up with the subi one, but that shouldnt be a huge issue.other than that, just patching rust spots, welding in new tubs for the front floorboards (can get these cheap), is what I really need help with.Holler at me if you are interested[Edited on May 31, 2006 at 12:32 AM. Man, if I had more time, I'd jump at it. But alas, I don't have shit for time. I'm backlogged at least a week as it is...maybe more like 2 or three weeks.I just can't burn the candle at both ends like I used to...*WHINE*

Is this the '02 project with a Scooby powertrain?

yep. The good thing is, I have been doing a lot of due diligence research and parts hunting. Which, thanks in large part to my buddy Jared, means we knocked off several months and thousands of dollars worth of work I don't need to do.

It's actually fairly straightforward fabrication, maybe a weekend of Plasma cutting that will be a bit rough.

i might be interested, depending on pay. could i come in whenever i want and how fast are you trying to get the work done bc i have two other jobs also.

Interested...what does it pay
6/1/2006 6:17:23 PM
lookin at 10 an hour, more dependent on experience. Basically if you can get it done faster because you are good, I will gladly pay more hourly.Or if you prefer, I can pay for fixed things to get done, aka one price for tubing the front end, etc.And yes, if you want to do this, you get your own key to the shop, you can work whatever hours you want, and you are welcome to use my space and equipment for your own stuff as well, so long as you give me a heads up ahead of time.
