I have an ac power adapter used to charge my camera which states that the input is 100-240 volts. I'm going to China and I know they use 220 volt outlets. My question is, can I just plug it directly into a socket and use it like normal when I am there, or do i need a voltage converter?

220 is in between 100 and 240. What do you need to convert, chinese voltage into american voltage?[Edited on May 23, 2006 at 1:18 PM. Reason : now, if China uses DC, then you'd have a problem. ]

That means your plug is fine inputting 220 volts in and will output appropriately. You will need an ADAPTER to change the plug from the two prong US to the asian standard.

No conversion, and in China's case, you may not even need an adapter plug, since they very often use a very similar standard plug as we do, just without holes in the metal, and typically a little shorter. If you have a 3-prong, get an adapter to convert to 2-prong.Occassionally you will find a couple of other plug types around China, but if you're lucky, you'll run into one of these nice traveler-friendly plugs:
