My dad works for Sprint, they started renting him a car because with gas prices the way they are it was cheaper to do that then pay for his gas/mileage anymore
5/20/2006 8:04:34 PM
48.5 cents per mile
5/20/2006 8:06:22 PM

I heard something about how if you take the bus to work, the company might compensate you, and the company can use it as a tax write-off. it's like part of the govts attempt to encourage alternative commuteanybody know more about this

Damn I wish they did. 796 miles a week is brutal. But at least they pay me enough to where I can "comfortably" drive that much so I guess it works out.

If I travel out of town they provide the car/gas. If I want to take another vehicle (to take a side trip or something), they will reimburse milage.Commuting...no.

they pay for travel to conferences and stuff, but not driving to work.
5/20/2006 9:55:11 PM
I make an extra 2 bucks an hour for gas, and I don't have a job that requires me to travel at all..... All I have to do is drive to work and sit in an office all day.

My work pays me, thus my milage!
5/21/2006 1:09:24 AM
my work doesn't help with the commute, but i get 44.5 cents/mile for work-related trips, like jobsite visits or going to pickup plans and shit.
5/21/2006 10:49:15 AM
when i get my company car i'll have free (for me) gas & insuranceno need to fill out silly paperwork to get paid for a few mileshollerbut for now, 44.5 cents a mile & no pay for commute-- its only 1/2 a mile anyway

5/22/2006 1:45:38 PM
Company car....and they pay for all of the gas in it! By the time I get home, I don't feel like going anywhere so my car basically sits in the yard. I just filled my car up and last time was 3 months ago. [Edited on May 22, 2006 at 8:08 PM. Reason : oops.]
