the price for labor and modchip is $80. The guy doing the work has done lots of them, and will load the necessary software, and install a switch to activate/deactivate the mod chip on the front of the unit. if you supply a 3.5" ide hdd he will install that, and i very much recommend doing that. they are dirt cheap at bby, with instant rebates. that way you can store you music, rip dvd's, games, emulators, etc.

I can do a software mod on your xbox for $70. Theres no need to buy a modchip, all you need is any size hard drive you want to put in, and then I flash your original bios with a hacked one. Includes avalaunch dashboard, latest xbox media center, and a few other handy applications and popular emulators. At extra cost I can customize it with some nice features such as setting it up to stream files from your computer over the network and etc. Softmod is the best way to go if you don't give a damn about playing xbox live because xbox live will recognize you have a hacked bios and keep you from logging in. There are other programs out there you can install and play over some other networks but it's not anything i'm interested in doing. So in general softmodding elminates the need to buy a chip and do hardware modifications to your xbox in case you're worried about someone frying it, its virtually error free.

^could you do that for the ps2?

$70 for a softmod? What are you smoking?I'll do a full hardware mod for $65, including the modchip. This includes installation of a hard drive if wanted (you can provide the drive or I can for an additional charge) and loading of basic software (Xbox Media Center, etc). I use the Xecuter 2.6ce chip for my installs, which has a selectable bios bank that lets you switch between the original MS bios and several different aftermarket bioses via a front panel switch. Its the most popular chip on the market, and thus has plenty of support availible.I warranty my work for 30 days (NOT tech support, only the install itself) and guarantee not to damage your box or I buy you a new one. I've done more than 50 installs to date and not botched a singe one though, so it shouldn't be an issue.

^Go ahead, but my time is worth more.I'd rather not do it actually, but for $70 its a good enough rate for me to set aside some time and fuck around with xboxs. Actually I'll negotatiate down to $55 for the hell of it, but thats a temp rate.

I'm already modded, how much to swap in a HDD into a box running xecutor 3?

Say $20 including software install.
