do compression and leak down test.then run it off a cliff

damn, a quart every 300 miles? I'm guessing a leaky seal. Ask zxappeal.

No smoke doesn't necessarily mean it ain't burning it due to bad rings. The catalytic converter can burn a good bit of oil off once it gets to temperature.PCV valve ever been replaced?Valve guides can also contribute to the problem, and the fucking VTEC engines got some goddam long valve stems and springs. More skew loading on the guides.Compression test (dry and with oil @ operating temps).I ain't equipped to do a leakdown test, though rigging up a BOOG setup to do it ain't that hard. Static leakdown test might give a little better indication as to ring condition.BTW, I have UV dye for your engine oil that you can dump in and look fer leaks using a UV light.[Edited on May 17, 2006 at 12:02 AM.
