Look into Oxygen. They offer more varied plans and its less crowded than Gold's.

i got a 3 month deal at macgregor health spa 2 summers ago in Apex, off of 64/US1 for 30 bucks... yup $10 a month.

my membership is$30/ mo but i had to sign a year contract :/ And I they offer a corporate discount for where I work.

they can do whatever they want, when i've gotten memberships i haven't settled for less than no "initiation fee," no contract, and less than half the first monthly payment they quoted me

if you know anybody else that wants a membership, go together, you have more leverage

i'd be willing to pay a bit for that, pretend you drove 20 miles so they think you'll never use the membership, they'll be more willing to sell you a cheap one
