I'm just curious how to determine how many bathrooms a party of 200 people need.

I mean, I'd say one person has to go once every 1 hour or so? hmm...

anybody know the rule?

1 for males, and 1 for females

-0 if it's strictly an outdoor event ... just have some hand sanitizer available.
-1 per 50 if there won't be much alcohol/drink consumption.
-1 per 25 if there will be higher amounts of alcohol/drink consumption.

I have no source on those last two. I figure 4 toilets for each gender is standard.

The more alcohol the more bathrooms. If you have 200 and a lot to pass, I'd say "around 4 or 5". They WILL go on the floor so don't be skimpy.

If you are sure 200+ get 4. Most places that rent portapoties give deals at 4+. So it's like $10 more for 4 instead of 3.
