has anyone waited this long to complete the FAFSA? I still didnt complete mine...Im doing it tomorrow or so........ this means I'll get practically no financial aid--right?
5/12/2006 12:22:42 AM
how long does it take to get your results generally?i turned my shit in in marchand i haven't seen nothing from it
5/12/2006 12:27:31 AM
I've filled out a form in July and I still at least got loan aid. But yeah, fill it out ASAP. If the University hasn't already given out its aid, you'll be bound to get some.
5/12/2006 12:33:20 AM
if you get ANYTHING, it'll just be a loan offer.
5/12/2006 12:37:02 AM
that fact that this user is a chick is sole reason i'm not gonna call her a dumb bitch

I was picked this year to turn all this proof of the stuff it takes to fill out the FAFSA, just more work... You will most likely get next to nothing. The deadline for priority filing was March 1st, anything after that-you're on the back burner, but still eligible for loans and fewer grants. Hope that answers your question! (^Hasn't stopped you before.)[Edited on May 12, 2006 at 12:39 AM. Reason : n]
5/12/2006 12:38:26 AM
i got picked for that "random" verification EVERY semester i was in school
5/12/2006 12:39:18 AM
^criminal history maybe?
5/12/2006 12:41:59 AM
what the fuck does that have to do with anything?
5/12/2006 12:43:15 AM
i had to turn proof in too verifying stuff.
5/12/2006 12:44:33 AM
i dont understand that post
5/12/2006 12:46:45 AM
you can still get loans
5/12/2006 12:51:16 AM
Yeah, it was explained to me very simply that it's just a random selection of 1 in 3 applicants. Some are repeats, some not. And the purpose is just to have something on file in case the university ever gets audited for financial aid reasons. It's no big deal unless you lied when filing, and if you mistyped something by accident, they just fix it for you.
5/12/2006 12:51:43 AM
when do you get summer financial aid moneyi got a letter saying i was approved for 1000 each semester and i could really use that money
5/12/2006 12:59:06 AM
You get it the first day of classes.I still haven't filed mine. Oops. I was late (mid April or so) before my sophomore year too and still ended up with plenty of money, though. And I get selected for verification every year too.
5/12/2006 1:18:03 AM
yeah its due like the 15th, you better get on that
5/12/2006 1:25:57 AM
Yeah, I haven't even filed mine for next year though. My mom freaks out about sending me her tax information.
5/12/2006 1:58:44 AM
oh you can lie and guestimate like a mf on that stuffthats what i did and at first it said my expected family contribution was 8500 or so, i just looked yesterday and it says like 10500 now
5/12/2006 2:03:07 AM
I'd just copy last year's information but apparently my mom made a lot more money this year. She's coming up tomorrow so I'll probably get the info from her then.I'm hoping that my EFC will still be 0 as usual.
5/12/2006 2:14:43 AM
yeah my parents always take fucking forever to get their shit together for FAFSA, prolly all the grant money i'm elidgeable for is gone by then.this year it was like late april when i turned it in.
5/12/2006 2:19:59 AM
my dad was late doing taxes every year, and i still got it. One year he didn't do his taxes until november, and i still got my loan and grants in December - they even included the semester that fall semester.
5/12/2006 2:25:37 AM
^^eligibleThis is getting ridiculous, guys.[Edited on May 12, 2006 at 2:26 AM. Reason : for real]
5/12/2006 2:26:27 AM
1) fin aid questions belong in study hall2) turn in your FAFSA asap. it'll likely be mostly loans at this point. if you're poor enough, you might get a small grant or two3)

5/12/2006 9:05:48 AM
what results are you wondering about?your EFC?your final aid package?I'm not sure what you mean by "results"
5/12/2006 9:12:05 AM
ya, if you get like it paid 100% they want to verify that stuff.
5/12/2006 9:13:06 AM
5/12/2006 9:25:13 AM
^thanks for the infobut i'm returning to school as a first-time grad student, not at statedoes the info still hold true?[Edited on May 12, 2006 at 9:27 AM. Reason : ambrosia - i'm waiting to hear what kind of money i'm getting, thats the "results" i guess]
5/12/2006 9:26:22 AM
^I cannot speak for how another university handles their financial aid process. You would want to call that Financial Aid Dept. directly and ask them what their processing schedule is going to be.
5/12/2006 9:27:45 AM
