can I have my way now?
5/7/2006 1:00:44 AM
who are we going to get?
5/7/2006 1:01:33 AM
dick sheridan[Edited on May 7, 2006 at 1:05 AM. Reason : duh]
5/7/2006 1:02:05 AM
you are being a fag.
5/7/2006 1:04:23 AM
Bill Cowher duh. He bought a house here in Raleigh.
5/7/2006 1:42:41 AM
JAY4HC
5/7/2006 1:56:57 AM
we should keep amato around until cowher is done with the steelers.
5/7/2006 2:08:57 AM
please dont start with this shit
5/7/2006 2:19:30 AM
OMG, how many more 4th place finishes can we put up with before this man needs to leave?I want to hang banners!he didn't even beat Duke last year
5/7/2006 9:10:42 AM
*sigh* well, i can't turn this thread downcoaches that are better than amato and are currently available/coaching at smaller schools:Mike PriceFrank SolichRick NeuheiselButch DavisDennis Eriksonwe already lost a shot at Dan Hawkins thanks to the magical run to the Carcare Bowl
5/7/2006 12:49:35 PM
Listen.I learned my lesson.HOLD OFF ON THE FIRING COACH THREAD UNTIL WE GET RID OF FOWLER.WE ARE NOT GETTING SOLICH, PRICE, DAVIS, ERICKSON (who the fuck wants neuheisel honestly id rather have amato). With Fowler heading up the search we'd probably end up with Lavar Fisher or Jamie Barnette as coach.
5/7/2006 1:00:24 PM
lol, maybe we'll luck out and get danny deskevich.and all neuheisel did was win a rose bowl. yeah, amatos better.
5/7/2006 1:05:49 PM
yeah but he destroyed the Colorado program.... that guy is even dirtier and more me-first than Calipari
5/7/2006 1:08:49 PM
Neuweasel was accused of 51 violations at Colorado alone. Then there was the gambling thing at Washington
5/7/2006 1:11:27 PM
Sure you can, after Amato gets 5 more yrs like Herb. If he doesn't produce a BCS bowl by then....
5/7/2006 1:15:49 PM
i thought the idea was to move up, not down
5/7/2006 1:27:29 PM
Hey, guess what? Herb's gone. Get over it and move on. I was a Herb Supporter until he left. Now I'm a Lowe supporter. Amato isn't God's gift to football by any stretch of the imagination, but the guy ain't going anywhere for a while. But if Cowher ever decides to retire from the NFL, I'll be the first to get behind that cause with fuckin' bells on.
5/7/2006 1:42:09 PM
Think about this tho...once Bunting is gone, UNC will surely go after someone like Mike Price, and they could probably get him...
5/7/2006 3:09:43 PM
5/7/2006 3:11:45 PM
In all seriousness, I didnt know Neuheisel did all of that at Colorado. But the office pool issue? Thats a weak reason to blackball a coach. But yeah, I totally didnt know about him doing that much at CU.But just think if we had Solich, with the corps of RBs we have right now...
5/7/2006 5:18:52 PM
^^ Me? Where am I raving over Lowe getting the job? That's not me.I'm supporting the guy, and im clearing up the fact that his NBA record is not useful for drawing conclusions. I think he can recruit, but Lowe is totally unproven. I'm excited about the coaching change, but I'm not predicting great things by any stretch of the imagination.
5/7/2006 5:32:57 PM
^I was worried about recruiting as well, but with the coaching staff he's puting together things are looking better and better. Keeping Harris is huge, and Towe should help out a lot with all of the coaching experience he has. I did hear that Towe might have been the one responsible for the ncaa violations at florida when he was the assistant under sloan, but that was a long time ago. I dont think he's sniffed trouble in a long time. If we can land strickland on top of the 2 assisntants we have right now, I think we could be nasty in a few years.
5/7/2006 5:51:07 PM
^I thought harris was run out of town, and was treated so badly he would never ever come back?
5/7/2006 5:52:35 PM
Um.........Lowe announced yesterday that he was keeping Larry on staff.
5/7/2006 5:57:21 PM
Mack Brown
5/7/2006 6:02:00 PM
has there ever been a time when a top coach retires from the nfl and decides to coach a college team? cowher, though fun to think about, will never ever happen. probably a better shot at him taking fowlers job
5/7/2006 6:47:42 PM
^ maybe he's nearly burned out from the long hours and dedication the NFL takes. He's won a Super Bowl and he's got the most tenure by far of any head coach in the NFL.Maybe in a few years he will be ready to take a less demanding job. You know so he could see his family, play some golf, have a social life, etc.I don't think this is far-fetched at all, and I think Cowher could definitely build a top-notch program...
5/7/2006 7:30:47 PM
we do not want Solich the man is an insult to the game and would be a repeat Herb Sendek! In order to have a decent running game you must develop the o line! By getting rid of Barry, our o line will be fine, and these threads will be negated completly!
5/7/2006 7:33:11 PM
^do you even know what the fuck youre talking about?go stand in the corner until you can tell me what Nebraska football has specialized in for the past umpteen years. the man got fired after a 9 win season. we would KILL for a season like that.[Edited on May 7, 2006 at 7:39 PM. Reason : .]
5/7/2006 7:38:56 PM
Solich divided the fanbase, was not media friendly (Sendek)They specialized in defense first and a well-developed ground gameI was born in NE and raised a Husker By the way Amato has a 9 win season, we dont have to kill for one like it...
5/7/2006 8:41:49 PM
5/7/2006 8:43:04 PM
Just a point that we have a coach that is capable of a nine win seasonSolich won nine games and lost two title games in one year
5/7/2006 8:46:39 PM
5/7/2006 10:11:54 PM
5/7/2006 10:56:59 PM
NC State alums get a few extra 2.5 years of fucking up before they get firednerds with precious little ivy-league offenses don't get any
5/7/2006 11:10:51 PM
PEEIN IN YOUR PANTS IS COOL
5/7/2006 11:22:00 PM
5/7/2006 11:32:30 PM
Fuck you tim
5/7/2006 11:52:33 PM
^ huh?
5/8/2006 12:05:36 AM
I'm hoping this thread is sarcastic on your part
5/8/2006 12:08:15 AM
i abhor him
5/8/2006 12:10:54 AM
5/8/2006 12:11:38 AM
i'm not satisfied with playing MTSU/Western Carolina/William & Mary in the regular season and Kansas/UCF/Pitt in bowl games
5/8/2006 12:14:59 AM
if youve ever complained about any of our teams playing weak schedules, then youll have to admit that we won 9 games in 2002. one of the teams we beat doesnt even exist anymore.and price won the pac-10 twice. how many times did amato finish above 4th in the 9-team ACC? dont tell me that unc wouldnt be better than us w/ him or butch davis or erickson.
5/8/2006 7:16:22 AM
5/8/2006 8:12:46 AM
I think that's the joke, there, sport.
5/8/2006 8:23:51 AM
5/8/2006 9:56:13 AM
the c key is too close to the s
5/8/2006 10:05:31 AM
id just like to see the discipline his first two teams displayedbut i think it was all chows doing
5/8/2006 10:12:26 AM
^^^yeah, UCF is better than USF...thats why USF beat them easily last year.UCF wouldnt have made a bowl if they had played Miami, Penn State, Louisville, and West Virginia like USF did.
