When should I begin looking around for 2 br houses/condos for the fall? I know apartment complexes push you to sign a lease asap, but what about other places?

Im currently browsing at possible areas now, but dont want to go in depth searching if no one will give me a lease 3 monthes before I would move in.

search now! just cause you sign a lease doesn't mean you have to move in right then. I signed my lease in april last year and didn't start paying/move in til august

i didn't find my place until aug 1st...and it's a house behind hillsborough, no worries. there were still plenty of places up for rent at that time

check out http://www.GoOffCampus.com

there are a bunch of places around campus who will give you a rate and a guarantee for august, so its not too early to start at all.

Also, If you look for the bigger leasing companies and complexes, they are willing to put something together for you to accomodate your desire to sign or commit early. Other than that, its a safe bet that most places available right now will be available in the fall as well, as the summer season is not their best time.
