im moving to lake park apartments in june...3 people in a 4 bedroom place...and im thinking about getting a puppy. the lease clearly says no pets...we're renting it from a condo owner who is never gonna be around, and im wondering if anyone else at lake park has a dog? has management been a problem with fines and shit? how would they find out other than taking it to piss and for walks? (i could say it wasnt mine.)

bad idea. please don't be one of those people who gets a dog/cat/whatever when the lease says no, then when you get caught you take it down to the shelter. don't contribute to the already huge homeless pet population.

You may get away with it, but condisder the consequences if you dont. You will either have to break your lease or abandon the dog. It really is not fair to the dog. If you took the initiative to look you could find a place where you can legally have a dog.

The thing about Lake Park is that the community rules/covenants prohibit dogs so your landlord cannot grant permission for you to have the dog even if he/she wants to. Once the HOA gets after your unit then you/your landlord will have to pay the fines and the dog must go.

There are some very affordable houses in between Gorman & Kent and in Collegeview that you can rent and have a dog at legally. If you really want a dog get a place with a yard that you can walk the dog in and that you dont have to worry about getting rid of it.

You haven't even moved in yet and you are already looking at breaking the lease rules. Save you and the dog both a lot of trouble and just wait till you move somwhere else. Plenty of places allow dogs.

a roommate of a good friend got a dog in lake park...about 3 days later the dog was spotted, not out peeing, but peeping through the blinds to the porch...they promptly got fined and she promptly took her dog to stay at her bfs house.

don't do it. if they say no then don't risk the fine...and most importantly, don't do it to the dog. if you really care about the dog and having one you shouldn't put yourself in this kind of position. and if you're considering doing this one thing, i can only think of what else you might have overlooked as far as taking care of an animal--it's a big responsibility that doesn't need to be taken lightly.
