$600 is too much for that system with no OS.

That computer can not play those games or "all the latest" games on full settings here is my specs:

CPU : AMD X2 4200+
Cooling: Thermalright SI-97A
Mobo : ASRock Dual SATA-II
Video: eVGA GeForce 6800 128 AGP (16,6) @420/880
Cooling: Zalman VF700-CU LED
RAM : OCZ Platinum PC3200 2x1GB Dual Channel 2-3-2-5
Sound: Creative Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro
HD : Seagate Barracuda 160G SATA-II 3.0Gb/s
PSU : Coolermaster Real Power 550W
Case : Antec 1040
OS : XP Pro SP2 (Full Install)

And I can barely run some of those games on full settings. Plus that 9800 Pro is outdated big time to play any new games. Hell my 6800nu is outdated now.

Even with a monitor included 600 is too much with no OS. Even though every student enrolled in a CSC class can get a free copy of XP Pro.

I didnt say "full settings". I said "high". To make myself clear it can play those games at high settings at 1024 x 768 resolution with no AA.

And I am accepting best offers. 500 is not set in stone.

nope no way it can run high settings on those games with that CPU RAM and Video. Unless you are saying that 20fps is ok. You need to admit to people that this thing will not run those games at an acceptable level. This computer is 4 years old like you said it is running on old old ass shaders and that CPU can not handle new games. Plus look at the RAM in the thing...I mean come on now.

** The only one it might run decent is Doom 3 because of the age of Doom 3. But even with that Id say if you ran at the settings you are saying you might get 30-40 fps max. Easily dropping into the low 20's when you are actually fighting something. I had a 9500 Pro I know how these cards perform.

Are you willing to part out some of the ram?

Looks like I will have to part it out since no one is interested. I will let you know in a few days.

Ive played the games myself on my computer. The latest one I played was Quake 4 and it ran smoothly at High settings with no pauses in gameplay and no long load times. If you dont believe me but are interested in the computer I will gladly demonstrate.

If you do part it out, I'd be interested in your video card, and drive.

to offer a counter opinion to Blackdog.

Doom 3 and Quake 4 both ran fine on my AMD XP 2200+ w/ the same video card, and a GB of pc2100 ram....I beleive him that a 4200+ will do it just fine. Farcry tho...that game is crucial no matter what the platform. the real test is to just run 3dmark, and not wonder.

I may be interested in the video card and the dvd burner... as for what Blackdog said "I had a 9550", a 9550 is one of the shittiest ATI cards, you cant compare that to the 9800 pro, hell u cant compare that to a 9600 xt which i have successfully ran doom 3 on high settings with my athlonxp 2600 comp with a 9600xt and 768 mb pc2700 ram. Hell doom 3 ran on low settings when i had my 9200SE which is ati's lower end card of the 9000 series, the 9550 might be newer than the 9800 but that doesnt mean its better. Different card markets.... ne ways back to the topic at hand... nice build (except the pentium)... if i was out for a new system i would consider it... but i recently bought a amd64 939 3500

Im glad others agree. Even in your computer isn't uber hot shit, it's still a nice system, and well worth buying.

Currently KIBONG is the highest bidder at $300.
