So yea, everytime I try to save a damn file with firefox or download anything at all the whole program locks up and has to be closed. I've uninstalled and reinstalled latest version with no luck.Any ideas? Otherwise I'll just go back to IE.

oldversion.comget version 1.0solved my problem as ie sucks and the new ie 7 beta fucked up my computerand opera is just plain gay

Heh, opera seems to be one of those "love it or hate it" things. I guess most browsers end up being like that don't they? It's funny how browser choice has become such a deeply personal thing though. I understand when people defend expensive purchases more vehemently than reason would demand. Cognitive dissonance and preservation of the delusion of competence and all that. But seriously, what do you really have vested in a browser choice.

dude no offense but using those big ass words makes you sound more dumber if anything

Hah, sorry, I'm writing a paper right now and I think I'm stuck in my BS vocabulary mode.
4/26/2006 8:39:43 PM
honestly i was only refering to "Cognitive dissonance and preservation of the delusion of competence"
4/26/2006 8:43:54 PM
yeah, I threw in "and all that" so it would be obvious I didn't really know what I was referring to.

I'm having a firefox issue in which I'm trying to watch things like MLB.com games and firefox asks me to install missing plug ins to view, which I try to do, but it says that they failed to do so. Anyone have any suggestions?

FireFox eats 200MB of RAM on my laptopgood thing I have 2 GB
6/8/2006 11:49:35 AM
^i've noticed that as well lately...like i probably have 2 windows open with maybe 8 total tabs and its sometimes even above 300and i only got like 384mb of ram total

the ram usage is high because of the fast browsing feature.. the feature that makes going back in history and forward instant.. change browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers and the max_viewers from -1 (which is auto) to the number of pages you want stored.. this will only affect back/forward buttons.. 0 turns the fast browsing off.. I have mine set to 2 for both entries and i haven't exceeded 40mb yet.[Edited on June 9, 2006 at 3:27 AM. Reason : ]
