so we've all seen the 1984 Mac Superbowl commercial (http://youtube.com/watch?v=z9PQ16KVntQ) and some screenshots of old PC and Mac magazine ads, but I hadn't seen the full 16 page Mac ad in Newsweek in 1984. It's pretty cool. A couple things that jump out are that the Tool Pallette in MacPaint on page 3 is almost identical to my tool pallette in Photoshop 7 (albiet with much few options, but the icons are the same, and in nearly the same arrangement), and of course, a young Bill Gates giving his endorsement on page 10!http://toastbucket.com/apple1984ad/p10.html

I just love this ad. It's so amazing to think about the context it was for. Imagine selling a mouse to someone who has never used one before. Explaining cut and paste. I have a hard time coming up with words for it, it's so part of my daily life, but they explained it - well enough to sell it!

"Soon there will be two kinds of people. Those who use computers. And those who use Apples."It came true, just not quite in the way they expected
