Alright,

Due to some circumstances, I may have to take a summer session in order to graduate.

Does the university usually offer a history class like HI205 during the summer sessions?

Thanks.

yes, during the 2nd summer session.

i found the site that lists when classes are usually offered for the history department.

hi 205 i remembered being a 2nd summer session course b/c i signed up for it then once. (ended up taking it this spring though)

if you are looking for another class to fulfill the same requirement you might be able to find it at that sight which I suppose you are interested in if you are trying to wrap up graduation as soon as possible with a sum session 1.

My grp 502 req is what I took hi 205 to fulfill.

Quote :
"selection list: HISTORY II curriculum: (BA) PHILOSOPHY (GENERAL)
course key: GRP 502 degree key: 16LAL 036

Course Title
01 HI 205 WEST CIV SINC 1400
02 HI 210 MOD EUR 1815-PRES
03 HI 221 BRIT HIST TO 1688
04 HI 222 BRIT HIS FROM 1688
05 HI 233 WORLD IN 20TH CENT
06 HI 251 EARLY AMER HIST
07 HI 252 MODERN AMER HIST
"

210, 222, 251, & 252 seem to be the ones standardly offered in the first summer session, although I'd stay away from brit history b/c ludington usually teaches it & is the most boring professor ever.

hi 205, 251, 252 are in the 2nd summer session. 205 is the most interesting, but requires alot of studying with Dunstan (although in a 5 wk session it might not be that bad).

good choice taking a History over the summer, escp. if you dislike History courses

I took HI270 in Summer Session II (distance ed.) last summer session and it was as quick as possible, yet still painful. Too many papers and irritating readings for me, but I'd say go Distance Ed. to avoid listening to someone yap about it.

Don't take Middleton or Stratta...honestly, I've yet to hear of a GOOD 200-level History teacher. In that vein, avoid Khater too.

but all history classes aren't like that

I took HI215 last fall with Butler. Only 1 paper, 2 tests, and the final. Tests were like 3 short answer and one essay. Was quite easy I thought.
