Gordie Howe
4/22/2006 1:03:57 AM
there's this one guythey call him "the great one" yeah
4/22/2006 1:05:35 AM
Gordie was a far more complete player than Gretzky ever was. They didn't just name the Gordie Howe Hat Trick after him arbitrarily.Still, Gretz is Gretz. 970 more points than anyone else.
4/22/2006 1:09:08 AM
yes but gretzky never played for the wings.
4/22/2006 1:19:25 AM
4/22/2006 1:21:29 AM
Patrick Roy in his prime was a tremendous goalie.
4/22/2006 1:33:19 AM
Don't get me started on Patrick Roy.Best goalie ever by a long shot, followed by Ken Dryden.
4/22/2006 1:53:41 AM
IRBE ?!?!?!?
4/22/2006 1:56:08 AM
My favorite players are Roy and Irbe. [Edited on April 22, 2006 at 1:57 AM. Reason : d]

I can't read what you are saying because I've got my two Stanley Cup rings plugging my eyes.

Patrick can't hear Jeremy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaiN8HjEy74&search=patrick%20royRoy vs. Vernon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqygsIPGgKw&search=patrick%20royRoy vs. Osgood: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNuxA73ehhE&search=patrick%20roy

if Gretzky never scored a goal, he'd STILL be #1 in all-time points. 'nuff said.

4/22/2006 12:10:56 PM
I disagree. That's why I put him there.
4/22/2006 12:14:13 PM

4/22/2006 12:17:14 PM

GretzkyHoweOrrHonorable mentions go to Lemieux, Borque, Messier, Roy, Yzerman, and HasekIf I recall ESPN had a list of hockey greats that you could drag and make a top ten out of and then see how it compared to what others said, I thought this was pretty damn cool if anyone can dig up the link.

How about a top 10 or 15 or 20 or 100 where theyre all #1Orr, Statsny, Chelios, Lidstrom, Howe, Gretzky, Lemieux, Richard, Dionne, LaFleur, Roy, Brodeur, Hasek, Jagr..........to name a few
4/24/2006 1:59:36 PM
bein a red wings fan i loved those fights, darren mccarty beat the fuck out of claude lemieux, and then roy lost to both vernon and osgood, and was bigger than both of them
4/24/2006 3:11:13 PM
Vernon's a pussy. He went diving into another fight WITH HIS MASK ON. He even left it on when he started dancing with Roy, Patrick had to rip it off his face.

I would have to say there have been many great hockey players but with all tha changes in the game through the years its hard to pick the "best" player
4/24/2006 11:49:13 PM
1. Steve Halko2. Jeff Daniels3. That Gretzky fellow
4/24/2006 11:51:49 PM
Never the best but he was my favorite growing up(from Icecap days).http://hockeygoalies.org/bio/reddicks.htmlI always thought it was badass to have a black goaltender.
4/25/2006 12:18:04 AM

4/25/2006 12:20:50 AM
4/25/2006 12:38:45 AM
