I'd really appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to delete a block entirely in autocad. I've searched through the help files but they are no help at all. Thanks

that's a good question...it seems like you should be able to select the entire solid and remove.

I was fixing to say, just click on it and erase it. Now if it's a block entity with a name, then its definition will still exist in the drawing file. You have to PURGE it.Once you enter the PURGE command, then you will be prompted as to what you want to purge...Blocks, Layers, etc.You can only purge unreferenced blocks...meaning that you can't purge if there are copies of the block in model space. You have to erase the entities in model space before you can purge the block definition.

def points, oh knowes. turn all layers on, select & delete. if that doesn't work quit wasting time on it & just move it out of the viewable area.[Edited on April 21, 2006 at 12:19 AM. Reason : *]

type "xref" hit enterunload the block, then detach itthen if it's not already gone, you can delete itprobably too late, but better late than never
