I haven't chosen my concentration for my acc major as of yet and I'm curious as to whether or not anyone has any opinions about the various concentrations? Why you may think one is better over the other. I know that Dr. Buckless thinks the IT option is the way to go because there aren't too many who choose that option, however I'm thinking that I Just do not like computer programming, language, etc. FA was my first choice because I've always liked that sort of thing, but the managerial option seems appealing, too. Thanks!

I had the same feelings about not liking computer programming, language, etc. I talked to a number of the accounting faculty and my advisor and they all assure me that the IT concentration does not involve programming and language. They said that an IT concentration is meant for you to get a job in which you will audit accounting software. I think this means that you will judge the functionality of the software. After you analyze what the software does, you then tell a team of programmers what you want them to change in the software (they will take care of all the programming). This is the best understanding of have of the IT concentration. I recommend that you talk to one of your accounting instructors. Dr. Joe Brazel is my advisor and he is an awesome person to talk to. He loves to help students out! Good Luck.
