how much of it is enhanced in some way. you know, through editing, drugs, injections, etc . . . testing policies, salaries, legalities, etc . . .i have yet to find a serious take on the porn industry either in book form or periodical.

The book Reefer Madness, by Eric Schlosser (of Fast Food Nation fame) covers this pretty extensively. Did you know the guy who started Adam & Eve has some pretty high up degree in Slavic Languages and is working on I think a PhD in Public Health?

I remember hearing a report on NPR almost a year ago about such a book. It was titled Porn, Technology, something or rather.Basically the author studied how the internet has evolved due to the increase of online porn. One quote was like the average male would spend 30 secs trying to figure out how to play a video clip of a baseball game, but 9 mins trying to play a porn clip.anyway happy searching

^^ u cant really say that without some kind of backup. there are different areas of the porn industry and not all include barbie doll blondes with plastic tits.

There was a show on it on Oxygen last week, and it may be a series. There have been a number of discovery type shows on the industry, sometimes on VH1 type channels. From what I remember from the last couple of years of info. There is mandatory testing on a regular basis, for drugs and stdsThe women make on average $500 a movie, while men get $200

I saw a program on this a while ago that was really cool. The porn stars are great they're like "it's just everyday work, you have sex in front of a lot of people and they all just want to finish and get lunch".My impression is that the big names are a pretty legit outfit. Beyond that, i immagine that just about anything you can immagine exists in terms of business practices. I mean, there's a lot of wierd porn out there.

Bill Margold wrote a book on the Porn Industry a while back (he was a pioneer). He was a guest speaker at some sex class I had at UCLA. The book is hilarious yet serious and is probably exactly what you are looking for.
