Definately sucks. But at least scouts know he wasnt lying about it now.
4/14/2006 9:24:59 AM
threadworthy?
4/14/2006 9:26:22 AM
that still doesn't excuse why he's put on almost 30lbs and stopped working out the rest of his body. He'll have to get a torn hamstring fixed via surgury, which will make him a hell of a gamble now. I bet he drops to the second or third round as a result.
4/14/2006 9:29:15 AM
4/14/2006 9:34:38 AM
so i can create a thread from every ESPN Draft Special and/or SportsCenter that I watch from now on?right on
4/14/2006 9:49:33 AM
its a prominent player who was projected in the first round whose stock just took a huge shotso fuck off
4/14/2006 9:59:25 AM
Great, this just makes it even more unlikely that we land a RB in the first round now
4/14/2006 10:07:18 AM
did you guys hear about Jay Cutler?
4/14/2006 10:11:39 AM
Now, maybe he'll drop to our 2nd round pick, doubt he'll go in the first round now.
4/14/2006 10:17:07 AM
out of shape people are the ones with hamstring problems
4/14/2006 10:17:32 AM
runners with overdevelops quads have hamstring problems.
4/14/2006 1:08:32 PM
steelers should draft him now
4/14/2006 1:11:20 PM
do NOT get lendale white, please panthers, dont get himthe panthers dont need a fucking ta mclendon
4/14/2006 1:46:24 PM
they don't need a younger version of stephen davis
4/14/2006 1:51:26 PM
^^ I agree.
4/14/2006 1:56:22 PM
^^i'll take a younger stephen davis if he can rush for 1500 and share the carries with foster, ie the "good" stephen davis of 2003
4/14/2006 1:58:28 PM
4/14/2006 2:28:14 PM
4/14/2006 3:20:02 PM
4/14/2006 6:41:01 PM
i think the hammy injury is slightly not as bad as they are making it seem, i think he is using it as an excuse for not running and being out of shape at the combine. thats the only reason i could think of for him haveing a chiropracter diagnose the injury as oppossed to a orthopedist or medical doctor
4/14/2006 6:47:02 PM
or maybe he would rather win than be picked in the top 10?but you could be right. he could just be lazy.
4/14/2006 9:45:40 PM
with all the money at stake from say being the 10th overall pick to say being the 32nd overall pick i dont know many people that rather win right off the bat than getting the only guaranteed money that they are ever certain off cut in half or worse for the chance to play for a winner. yeah winning is great but so is a big signing bonus and lets face it if his career is long enough he wil probably get to play for a winner at some point, but this could potentially be his only shot at a big signing bonus.

4/15/2006 12:27:27 AM
I'm telling you a medical fact. go read up on it if you're too fucking stupid to already know this.As far as your other numbers, where'd you get them from? I doubt every scout and reporter in the nation would be bitching about the weight he put on if he actually lost weight.
4/15/2006 1:37:06 AM
Well regardless of how much he weighs and how lazy he was I think the panthers need to pick him up if he is available by 26th pick. The last time we had a bruiser back that was worth a shit we went to the superbowl and deshaun thrived behind him. The panthers need a back like him to jump start our offense and he is young enough to be that guy for years to come.I would be lazy also at USC if bush was starting ahead of me and we were blowing everyone out (except the amazing rosebowl game).Bottomline:He should be able to contribute immediately (assuming the diagnosis is true). The word is out about any laziness or attitude problems he may have. I am sure any team that drafts him will watch him like a hawk and not let him go down the tubes because of the $$ they are paying him. Wouldnt be surprised if part of his contract had a stay-in-shape clause. The guy is a freakin battering ram of a back.

4/15/2006 4:46:17 PM
I'll take that to mean you made your numbers up then.

4/15/2006 8:32:08 PM
after reading those links, I'm pretty sure you just made up your numbers, because they didn't give the numbers you gave.[Edited on April 15, 2006 at 9:16 PM. Reason : I'd also like to know where you got a number for his Rose Bowl weight; they're always inflated]
4/15/2006 9:15:28 PM
you are an idiot. if you can't read, i guess you cant find the numbers i have mentioned
4/15/2006 9:42:56 PM
no, I read your links and found different numbers than what you posted. you need to work on your reading comprehension
4/15/2006 10:01:12 PM
holy shit, lets see what the second link says
4/15/2006 10:11:09 PM
4/15/2006 10:13:37 PM
I guess you're just one of the multitude of scrawny statistics gurus in here that have no understanding of body composition in sports. That would explain why you're having a hard time grasping this.
4/15/2006 10:15:06 PM
4/15/2006 10:25:49 PM
"and claimed he was at 252 during the rose bowl"that's the number that's really in question here. his regular season stats said 230, and that's the weight he appeared to be at during the Rose Bowl. By not working out, he would have lost several pounds of muscle, yet he came to the USC pro day at 244. that's easily 20lbs overweight, but probably closer to 30 if he looked as bad and as weak as everyone claims.252-230 = 22244-230 = 14a players published weight is almost always under what their top form weight is. is it possible that when he said "im not right physically" that he meant he was not right physically and maybe that he looked weak because he was sick or in pain and not because he was lazy?
4/15/2006 10:30:56 PM
i guess it might be of some use to say that even the USC site has his weight at 235, I guess they don't know his weight, but from reading some online articles, eleusis has determined his true weight...
4/15/2006 10:35:18 PM
If White drops to Panthers...we should take him... III
4/15/2006 11:55:03 PM
4/16/2006 10:45:30 AM
4/16/2006 2:18:33 PM
everyone claims to be 2 inches taller and 20lbs heavier on their gameday roster. besides, you never provided any link to back this claim up.
4/16/2006 4:50:58 PM
what the fuck are you talking about, the second link i have says he claimed that as his weight,
4/16/2006 5:06:33 PM
no, your second link was about the combine and claimed his weight to be at 244. there is no link that states his supposed weight at the rose bowl.as far as the numbers being off, you would know that were true if you knew anyone that played college sports. the only people that have their true weight listed beside their names are collegiate wrestlers. Why do you think they put that scene in Blue Chips where they annouced their names and heights with overinflated statistics?
4/16/2006 8:11:54 PM
4/16/2006 9:37:35 PM
eleusis is rightfrom highschool to college stats are inflated, except wrestling, and even then the weights become less accurate is they switch weight classes in time for 'lockdown' weigh-ins late in the season
4/16/2006 9:42:30 PM
4/16/2006 10:35:18 PM
well thats one athlete and im pretty sure there are a few thousand others that are listed at correct height and weightbecause theyre at the weight and height that the coach wants them to be, or because they arent worth a shit enough to fabricate/project a height and weight for
4/16/2006 10:41:13 PM
^ i know this, I am aware that people inflate height and weight, I just think its funny that he tells me I dont know anyone in college sports at the correct height/weight and thats definitely not true at all, some players are misrepresented, but I doubt LenDALE White's is too far off, he is a big back, and I think people would notice if he was only a few pounds heavier than Bush during the season...I also think lendal ewould be an awesome addition for carolina, I could see him shoring up their running alot.[Edited on April 16, 2006 at 11:03 PM.
