unfortunatelythis whole "using staffers for babysitters" thing is gaining some airtimeso i have no clue what nov 06 is going to look like now

Of course it is, it's pretty much all they've got on Democrats and they're hyping it up to appear balanced. Its scale doesn't even compare to that of the Republican scandals of the last year or so, and I doubt that the fallout is going to go much farther than Conyers himself. It's this simple: "Do you want a party so corrupt that its members use staffers as babysitters sometimes, or do you want a party so corrupt it gets involved with shady-assed lobbyists who ultimately get to write the legislation dictating what you can and can't do?"But why are we talking about corruption? The article didn't even mention it.It's about rampant fiscal irresponsibility.

yeah no i know what the article is abouti'm just saying...

The point has been made repeatedly. It's not zero sum. Disapproval of Conyers isn't approval of Republicans.

there is nothing fiscally irresponsible about huge deficits you can never hope to pay....right? oh fuck THERE IS. this is nothing more than scapegoating in my opinion. one committee chair is responsible for the entire budget deficit? please.

i was thinking of the line where it said "call him the minority maker"i understand how the budget process works (mostly), and if rank and file republicans didnt like the budget they could vote against it.

I'm about 95% sure that "Minority Maker" refers to the GOP "strategy" for Nov.

i took it as he would be doing the opposite of what gingrich did in 94...
